For over ride type RC

Order angle correction procedure

Correction of rudder order angle of “UID (User Input Device)”

1. Prepare
1) Turn the system selection switch of autopilot to “OFF”.
2) Set the dip-switch No.8 of SW2 on the RCCPU pwb of target UID to “ON”. (Refer to Fig.1)
(!!) Do not change the setting of other switch.
3) Turn the system selection switch of autopilot to “No.1” or “No.2”.
Confirm that the READY lamp of Takeover unit is blinking. (Refer to Fig.2)

2. Order angle correction procedure


1) Correct order angle by below procedure.

a) Correct 0 degree position


- Set the target controller to 0 degree (center) position.
- After that press DIMMER ▼ button of “Takeover Unit”.
- When you finished adjustment, OTHER lamp changes
from extinction to lighting.

b) Correct Stbd-max position
- Set the target controller to maximum of Stbd position.
- After that press TAKEOVER button of “Takeover Unit”.
- When you finished adjustment, OVERRIDE lamp changes
from extinction to lighting.

c) Correct Port-max position


- Set the target controller to maximum of Port position.
- After that press DIMMER ▲ button of “Takeover Unit”.
- When you finished adjustment, MAIN lamp changes from
extinction to lighting.

d) Finish all correction


When you finished all adjustment, ACTIVE lamp changes
from extinction to lighting.

!!) If ACTIVE lamp does not light, retry from 1-1) to 2-1)-c).

2) Set the controller to 0 degree (center) position.


3) Turn the system selection switch of autopilot to “OFF”.
4) Set the dip-switch No.8 of SW2 on the RCCPU pwb of target UID to “OFF”.
(!!) Do not change the setting of other switch.

3. Confirmation
1) Turn the system selection switch of autopilot to “No.1” or “No.2”.
2) Select the corrected UID to test.
3) Steer by UID, confirm that the showing angle on the ANNU display is same as angle scale of
controller and certainly the rudder can be turned more than 35deg.
4) Set the controller to 0 degree (center) position.

Items and Check Points Result

1. Preparation
(!!)This paragraph needs to turn off the Auto pilot power supply.
(1) Confirm the connection external wires

(2) This procedure is only for potentio meter device type adjustment.
Confirm the potentio meter resistance of Pin1-Pin2(COM) and Pin3-Pin2(COM).
If both resistances are unbalanced, need to adjust at potentio meter.
2) Turn the potentio-meter
Adjustment procedure is as follows; body.
(A) Disconnect J1 connector at target device.
(B) Set target device to 0deg.
(C) measure the resistance at
[0deg]
Pin1-Pin2(COM) and Pin3-Pin2(COM)
is approx. 2.5kΩ Pin1-Pin2(COM)
(D) If these resistance are unbalanced at 3), kΩ
then need to adjust by turning the potentio Pin3-Pin2(COM)
meter body.(refer to Pic2) kΩ
(E) Set the target device to Stbd-max. 3 2 1
(F) And then confirm the resistance [Stbd-Max]
Pin1-Pin2(COM): Approx. 4.8kΩ 1) Loose 13mm nut. Pin1-Pin2(COM)
Pin3-Pin2(COM): Approx. 0.3kΩ kΩ

(!!) If the resistance saturated, then adjusted by of potentio-meter kΩ
turning the potentio meter body as shown Pic2.
[Port-Max]
(G) Set the target device to Port-max.

(H) And then confirm the resistance.
(!!) If the resistance saturated, then adjusted by kΩ
Pin1-Pin2(COM): Approx. 0.3kΩ
turning the potentio meter body as shown Pic2. Pin3-Pin2(COM)
Pin3-Pin2(COM): Approx. 4.8kΩ
(I) Re-connect J1 connector. kΩ

2. How to adjust potentio meter device type
(!!) At first, must adjust HAND mode correction
(!!) Refer to Table 1 about other voltage except for “0deg” and “Set Angle”.
2-1. Span adjustment_1
(!!) This adjustment doesn’t have any problem by rough adjustment.
(1) Turn on the Auto pilot system switch No.1 or No.2
(2) Select NFU mode at Autopilot.
(3) Set the target device to “Set Angle” of Stbd.

(!!) Max rudder is 35deg : Set angle is Stbd-max(S 35deg) / Port-max(P 35deg)
Max rudder is 45deg : Set angle is Stbd-max(S 45deg) / Port-max(P 45deg)
Max rudder is 70deg : Set angle is Stbd-max(S 70deg) / Port-max(P 70deg)
(a) Case of CH1(CH5):
Adjust TP1-TP7(GND) to +4.5VDC by R79.
TP1-TP7(GND): +4.5VDC R79
(b) Case of CH2(CH6):
Adjust TP2-TP7(GND) to +4.5VDC by R80.
TP2-TP7(GND): +4.5VDC R80
(c) Case of CH3(CH7):
Adjust TP5-TP7(GND) to +4.5VDC by R142.

2-2. Zero adjustment


(1) Select RC mode at Autopilot.
(2) Start the steering gear pump.
(3) Set the target device to 0 degree.
And then confirm the actual rudder angle.
Case of CH1(CH5):
Adjust TP1-TP7(GND) to +2.5VDC±0.05 by R89.
TP1-TP7(GND): +2.5VDC R89
Case of CH2(CH6):
Adjust TP2-TP7(GND) to +2.5VDC±0.05 by R90.

2-2. SPAN adjustment_2
(!!) Actual rudder angle is more important than follow voltage.
(1) Select RC mode at Autopilot.
(2) Start the steering gear.
(3) Set the target device to “Set Angle” of Stbd.
And then check and adjust according to actual rudder angle.

(!!) Max rudder is 35deg : Set angle is HARD Stbd (S 35deg) / HARD Port (P 35deg)
Max rudder is 45deg : Set angle is HARD Stbd (S 45deg) / HARD Port (P 45deg)
Max rudder is 70deg : Set angle is HARD Stbd (S 70deg) / HARD Port (P 70deg)

(!!)If the SPAN voltage is adjusted, the ZERO voltage and position may be changed.
Because must check the ZERO voltage and position after the adjustment.
(!!) If the SPAN voltage is higher approx 0.5VDC than (+)4.5VDC, Alert is generated
at Auto pilot. The alert name is “UID# OFF LINE”.
(a) Case of CH1(CH5):
Adjust TP1-TP7(GND) to +4.5VDC by R79.
TP1-TP7(GND): +4.5VDC R79
(b) Case of CH2(CH6):
Adjust TP2-TP7(GND) to +4.5VDC by R80. CH1
TP2-TP7(GND): +4.5VDC R80 VDC

(3) Set the device to “Set Angle” of Port.
And then check and adjust according to actual rudder angle.
(!!) If the SPAN voltage is lower approx 0.5VDC than (+)0.5VDC, Alert is generated
at Auto pilot. The alert name is “UID# OFF LINE”.
(a) Case of CH1(CH5):
Adjust TP1-TP7(GND) to +0.5VDC by R79.
TP1-TP7(GND): +0.5VDC R79
(b) Case of CH2(CH6):
Adjust TP2-TP7(GND) to +0.5VDC by R80. CH1
TP2-TP7(GND): +0.5VDC R80 VDC

(c) Case of CH3(CH7): CH2


Adjust TP5-TP7(GND) to +0.5VDC by R142. VDC
TP5-TP7(GND): +0.5VDC R142 CH3

(4) If the ZERO angle is different between the target device and actual rudder angle, [CH1 ZERO]
need to adjust by adjustment volume of ZERO. (refer content 2-2) VDC

3. Operation check
(1) Steer the rudder to 0deg by every device.
Indication: ±0.5deg(Max rudder is 35deg and 45deg)
±1.0deg(Max rudder is 70deg) OK NG
(2) Steer the rudder to “Set Angle” of Stbd by every device.
Indication: ±1.0 deg(Max rudder is 35deg and 45deg)
±2.0 deg(Max rudder is 70deg) OK NG
(3) Steer the max rudder angle to Stbd.
And then keep the angle for 10 secondes.
Confirm the alert is not generated at ANNU. (Alert name is UID# OFF LINE) OK NG
(4) Steer the max rudder angle to Port.
And then keep the angle for 10 secondes.
Confirm the alert is not generated at ANNU. (Alert name is UID# OFF LINE) OK NG
(5) Set the device to 0deg.
Confirm the rudder doesn’t move automatically.
(!!) If the rudder was moved automatically even though the device is 0deg,
SGCPU must be checked or adjusted.
This situation is depended on the deviation of order signal and feed-back signal. OK NG

(2) Change to Hand mode. (1) Set the device to 0deg.
