Carbohydrates are one of the three macronutrients that provide energy for your body
and other health benefits for the such as improved brain performance and sleep pattern,
better metabolism, and reducing the risk of cancer. On the other hand, there are also risks
like gaining excessive weight, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The benefits or risks
you gain will depend based on what carbohydrates you choose to consume. Carbohydrates are
nutrients that are present in foods like fruits and vegetables, grain foods and sugary foods. They
are present in some of the ingredients that we used to make our meal which are vegetables;
(cauliflower, potatoes, carrots, etc.) and rice, which were used to make the curry fried rice dish
and the melon shake.

Protein, is said to be the most satiating macronutrient, which means that eating protein
will lessen the hunger and reduce overeating. Proteins provide the body with benefits like
making new cells for tissue growth, boosting metabolism and providing support to the
body. A few downsides of eating too much protein are kidney damage, constipation and also
increased risk of cancer. Protein is present in some of the ingredients that we used to make
our meal, these are; chicken, pork and eggs which also contributed to the creation of our dish.

Lipids, are compounds of wax, fats and oil that are also important and serves the body
with many functions such as regulating hormones, storing energy in the form of body fat. As
usual, lipids also play a big role in the body such as supporting cells, helping the body
absorb vitamins, producing hormones and storing energy. Although intaking too much
lipids can lead to buildup of blood vessels which can increase the risk of cardiovascular
problems. Lipids were also present in some of the ingredient that we used to make our meal
and these are; soy sauce and oil, which we used to cook and create our dish.

Fats, are also one of the three main macronutrients, that is very important in maintaining
a healthy, well-balanced diet. Some of the benefits that fats provide are supplying energy,
lowers the risk of cholesterol and blood pressure and aids in the absorption of important
nutrients in the body. However, if eating too much fats is not limited, it can lead to bad effects
such as obesity and high blood pressure. Some of the used ingredients from our dish
containing fats are; eggs and oil which are very important in the making of our dish.
