Assistant Manager (E&I) in M/s Heavy Mechanical Complex

(28th May, 2012 to Present)

Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC) Taxila, PAKISTAN.

HMC is an esteemed organization under the Ministry of Industries Government of Pakistan, which is a
pioneer company in Pakistan for erection / installation / maintenance of Cement, Sugar, Oil & Gas,
Chemical, Fertilizer, Hydro power and asphalt mixing plants etc. having 95 % in-house fabrication /
manufacturing facilities.

Services in HMC
I have involved in activities pertaining to Design, engineering, preparation, project management
and supervision of installation & commissioning of all kind of field as well as control room
instrumentation (PLC/DCS),and motors along with Variable frequency drives in the following
projects done by the joint venture of ABB, Siemens , and HMC in Pakistan;
Projects:
1. 1x 140TPH, 67 bar Bagasse fired Boiler and Fuel Handling system for 26MW Co-generation Power
Project, JDW Power Plant.
2. 2x100 TPH, 24 bar Bagasse fired/HFO fired Boiler, Gulf Sugar Mills
3. 1x100 TPH, 24 bar Bagasse fired/HFO fired Boiler, Ashraf Sugar Mills
4. 1x80 TPH , 24 bar Bagasse fired/HFO fired Boiler, United Sugar Mills
5. 1 x 30 TPH, 24 bar Gas fired Boiler, POF explosive factories Wah cant.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Generating Specification sheets / technical inquiries for Instrumentation & Control System as per
ISA, IEEE, IEC & NFPA Standards and Hazardous area classifications.

2. Making control philosophy / strategy regarding plant automation & control.

3. Involvement in installation, calibration & commissioning of field and control room instruments.
4. Preparing P&ID, PFDs, and SLDs, MCC / instrument / Control Panel Layout Drawings &
topology.
5. Control Room and MCC Room Layout Planning & Design.
6. Performing inspection and testing of equipment and components and ensuring systems are returned
to operational condition.

 7. Installation/ commissioning of geared motors and induction motors at site.
8. Installation/ commissioning and configuration of Variable frequency drive at site.
9. Interpreting designs, drawings and O&M manuals in locating and diagnosing trouble in electrical
equipment, control circuits and power systems.
10. Managing inventory control, preparing of single line diagrams, drawings and deliberating with
consultants to ensure timely completion of projects.
11. Commissioning of Centork Movs, Auma Actuators , Venti Inlet Guide Vane with Actuators and
MASCOT Controls Valves with Positioners.
12. Installation & Commissioning of all field Instruments like Pressure Transmitters, Level
Transmitters, Differential Pressure Transmitters, Temperature Transmitters, Furnace Draught
Transmitters, Air & Flue Gas Draught Transmitters, Oxygen Analyzer, Pressure Gauges,
Temperature Gauges, Temperature Elements (RTDs and Thermocouple), Aerofoil, Vibration
Monitoring System, Orifice Nozzles, Desuperheater, Electric & Pneumatic Actuators.
13. Installation & Commissioning of Belt sway switches, Pull chord switches, zero speed switches,
Magnetic Iron Separator and Belt weighing system with totalizer.
14. Familiar with various loop diagrams as control loop diagrams, logic diagrams,process flow
diagrams and P & I diagrams.
15. Commissioning & loop checking of HART devices.
16. Preparing Commissioning Completion Certificates (CCC).
