The three textual artifacts are all different in their way, each having distinct things that are

required of you to analyze the text in that specific manner. Firstly, with a genre analysis research
the genre that your question is involved in, and pinpoint the specific rhetorical moves or actions
that authors must follow to be considered part of the genre accomplishing the goal of said genre
(Dirk, 2010). (Carrol, 2010) A rhetorical analysis involves analyzing the text within a rhetorical
context and analyzing the situation within it which includes the audience, purpose, exigence, and
constraints that may be involved. Lastly, a theoretical framework analysis involves analyzing a
text through a specific framework to limit and focus on specific variables when interpreting the
data (Dr. Bilal, 2021). I would like to do a genre analysis as with my horror film question, a
genre analysis could provide vital information about what makes up horror films which would
allow me to talk about how the rhetorical moves of the genre can change the perception of what's
shown in the films. I feel like it could provide lots of information on what makes up the genre,
and why directors feel the need to include these specific moves which could allow me to learn
about how people feel about these aspects in the movies. One of the types of primary research I
will try to use for my research is surveying peers around me asking them questions about how
they feel about certain aspects of what make horror films what they are such as the gore and
violence. This gives me a helpful insight into what people in society think allowing me to
analyze my research further, and provide more detail (Driscoll et al., n.d).
