LIVING ON A REMOTE ISLAND

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to my

presentation. First of all, let me thank you all for coming
here today. My talk is particularly relevant to those of
you who have the opportunity of living on a remote
island. In my presentation I’ll focus on both the
advantages and the disadvantages of living in such a
place.

One major advantage of living on a remote island is the

unparalleled serenity and natural beauty you will be
seeing for the rest of your life. You can immerse yourself
in the breathtaking landscapes, pristine beaches, and
captivating sunsets, away from the hustle and bustle of
city life. This serenity provides an opportunity for
introspection and a chance to appreciate the wonders
of the natural world. For example, let’s say you are
having a bad day. Maybe you’ve gotten in trouble at
work or school or maybe things just aren’t working out
for you. Having the chance to just take a step back,
have a stroll on the beach and release all the pent up
emotions you’ve had all day, can be the perfect thing to
just get back on the track and feel a lot happier.
Now, I think it’s finally time for me to address the two
major problems of living on a remote island which are:
isolation and the limited access to essential services.
Indeed, living on a remote island can lead to social
isolation and, of course, limited opportunities for social
interaction and cultural activities may result in a lack of
diversity and stimulation, affecting personal growth.
Having someone to talk to and being part of a
community is what keeps us sane. I, for one, can’t
imagine living all by myself on a remote island. If I were
to, I would either move on the island with my family or
my friends. Next I think it’s important to highlight the
problem of limited access to essential services. Medical
facilities, educational institutions, and other critical
services may be scarce or require significant travel. This
can pose serious challenges, especially in emergencies.

In conclusion, living on a remote island is like a

double-edged sword. It is essential for you to weigh the
pros and cons, considering your personal preferences,
priorities, and adaptability to the unique circumstances
that island living entails.

Thank you for your time.
