1. The mining and quarrying industry has one of the lowest rates of fatal and non-fatal accidents.
Mining is an inherently hazardous industry due to the nature of the working conditions.

many things the mining industry is doing to improve safety. Advancing protective equipment is
another way the mining industry can improve safety.
