Step 1

Shraddhavan
Basic Minimum Requirement
1.To chant at least one round of Hare Krishna Maha-Mantra
every day.
2.To be an active devote and to attend the Bhakti Vriksha
programmes regularly, participate and associate with Krishna
Conscious devotees

Step 2

Krishna Sevak
Basic Minimum Requirement
1. To chant minimum of four rounds of the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra everyday.

2. To be dedicated to personal improvement in devotional practice and purity by gradually


applying the teachings of Srila Prabhupada under the guidance of his Representatives.

3. To accept Lord Sri Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

4. To engage in practical devotional service to Lord Krishna during festivals such as


Sri Krishna Janmastami etc.,

5. To refrain from eating non-vegetarian food (meat, fish and eggs) and tries to lead a moral
life.

sila-tanka-nakhalaye
I offer my obeisances to Lord Narasimha who gives joy to Prahlada Maharaja and whose nails are like chisels on the stonelike
chest of the demon Hiranyakasipu.

yato yato yami tato nrisimhah
bahir nrisimho hridaye nrisimho
nrisimham adim saranam prapadye
Lord Nrisimha is here and also there. Wherever I go Lord Nrisimha is there. He is in the heart and is outside as well. I surrender
to Lord Nrisimha, the origin of all things and the supreme refuge.

tava kara-kamala-vare nakham adbhuta-sringam


dalita-hiranyakasipu-tanu-bhringam
kesava dhrita-narahari-rupa jaya jagadisa hare
O Kesava! O Lord of the universe! O Lord Hari, who have assumed the form of half-man, half-lion! All glories to You! Just as one
can easily crush a wasp between one’s fingernails, so in the same way the body of the wasplike demon Hiranyakasipu has been
ripped apart by the wonderful pointed nails on Your beautiful lotus hands.

Step 3

Krishna Sadhaka
Basic Minimum Requirement
1. To chant eight to sixteen rounds of the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra every day.

2. To be dedicated to leading a devotional way of life by gradually learning and practicing Bhakti-yoga according
to the teachings of Srila Prabhupada under the guidance of his representatives

3. To study the books of Srila Prabhupada and attend the classes as often as possible (atleast the weekend
Bhagavad-Gita class every week)

4. To attend atleast 1 weekend Bhagavad Gita Class

5. Worship Sri Krishna, as far as practical in the home, by setting up an altar, offering arati and foodstuffs,
worshipping the sacred Tulasi plant and following basic sadhana like rising up early in the morning.

6. To lead a pure holy life by avoiding intoxication (alcoholic drinks and smoking),meat-eating, gambling and
extra-marital sex.

Step 4

Prabhupad Ashraya
Basic Minimum Requirement
1. To chant a minimum of sixteen rounds of the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra everyday.

2. To be dedicated to taking divine shelter of Srila Prabhupada by following the principles of Krishna Consciousness.

3. To practice Krishna Consciousness with strong conviction.

4. To chant a minimum of sixteen rounds of the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra everyday.

5. To strictly avoid intoxication including coffee and tea, meat eating including onion and garlic, gambling, mundane cinema,
sports and illicit sex.

6. To be well versed in the basics of Krishna conscious philosophy by reading the books of Srila Prabhupada systematically and is
actively engaged in preaching (according to his/her capacity) to others about Krishna Consciousness.

7. To do some responsible service (however simple it may be), on a regular basis.

8. To follow a strict sadhana programs at home by rising early in the morning and following a program similar to the temple as
far as possible. And to attend atleast one Srimad Bhagavatam/Srimad Bhagavad-Gita class every week.

sri-guru-caraëa-padma, kevala-bhakati-sadma,
bando mui sävadhäna mate
jähära prasäde bhäi, e bhava toriyä jäi,
kåñëa-präpti hoy jähä ha' te

TRANSLATION
The lotus feet of our spiritual master are the only way by which we can attain pure devotional service. I bow to his lotus feet
with great awe and reverence. By his grace one can cross the ocean of material suffering and obtain the mercy of Kåñëa.

guru-mukha-padma-väkya, cittete koriyä aikya,


är nä koriho mane äçä
sri-guru-caraëe rati, ei se uttama-gati,
je prasäde püre sarva äçä

TRANSLATION
My only wish is to have my consciousness purified by the words emanating from his lotus mouth. Attachment to his lotus feet
is the
perfection that fulfills all desires.

TRANSLATION
He opens my darkened eyes and fills my heart with transcendental knowledge. He is my Lord birth after birth. From him
ecstatic prema
emanates; by him ignorance is destroyed. The Vedic scriptures sing of his character.

sri-guru karuëä-sindhu, adhama janära bandhu,


lokanäth lokera jévana
hä hä prabhu koro doyä, deho more pada-chäyä,
ebe jaça ghuñuk tribhuvana

TRANSLATION
The Our Spiritual master is the ocean of mercy, the friend of the poor and the lord and master of the devotees. O Lokanath
Goswami! O master ! Be merciful unto me. Give me the shade of your lotus feet. your fame is spread all over three worlds.
