Lesson Plan: Introduction to Probability

Objectives:
a. students will understand the basic
principles of probability, including the
concept of random events, probability
space, and probability distribution.
b. students will learn how to calculate
the probability of simple events using
the formula of probability.
c.students will apply their knowledge of
probability to solve practical problems,
such as rolling dice or flipping coins.

Evaluation Questions:

1. What is the difference between an

event and a random event?
2. How do you calculate the probability
of a simple event using the formula of
probability?
3. Can you solve the following problem:
What is the probability of rolling a sum
of 7 on two dice?

Activity: Rolling Dice Game

1. Divide students into pairs or small

groups.
2. Give each group a pair of dice and a
worksheet with different tasks related to
probability.
3. Students should take turns rolling
the dice and completing the tasks on the
worksheet, such as calculating the
probability of rolling an odd number or
rolling a sum of 7.
4. After a set amount of time, groups
will share their answers and the teacher
will discuss the correct solutions with
the class.
5. As an extension, students can design
their own probability games and play
them with their classmates.
