For material of smaller diameter or width which may not be tested in the condition as manufacture of the test piece shall be turned from the centre of the material, 9.1.2 Rectangular BarsiRods The test piveo shall be takon from the contre of the rod/bar. 9.2 Bend Test ‘The material shall be tested for bend test in accordance witis IS 1599, if agreed to between, the purchaser and the manufacturer, 10 DIMENSIONS AND TOLERANCES 10.1 The dimensions and tolerances for round, square, rectangular and hexagonal reds/bars shall be as given in Table 2. 10.2 The tolerance on length of bar or rod, if ordered in exact length, shall be within the limite specified in Table 3. 10,8 The straightness and/or edgewise curvature shall not exceed 3 mm for every 1000 mm, 10.4 Radius on Edges (Square and Rectangular Material) If the material is required with radiused edges, the radius of curvature shall be as given in Table 4. 11 ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITY TEST 11.1'The electrical resistivity shall be meagured under one of the conditions given in WAT or 11.1.2, 11.1.1 Direct Measurement on the Test Sample 1S 613 : 2000 Resistance measurements shall be determined ‘on specimens of the rod after cleaning, but ‘without further processing and annealing, If direct measurement of electrical resistivity is not possille on the sample as received condition due to higher sampte size, alternatively, method of measuring electrical conduetivity in percent IACS, employing eddy current probe may be applied in place of electrical resistivity and the electrical conductivity values ae obtained, must comply with the values given in ‘Table 2 (see 11.2). 11.1.2 Measurement Annealing Resistance measurement shall be made on specimens of the rod after cleaning and proceseing down to a diameter of approximately 2.0 mm and annealing at temperature 500°C for 30 minutes, Other equivalent annealing method may be used. The number of barsirads to be selected for this purpose at random over the whole lot shall be in accordance with col 1 and 2 of Table 6. 12,2 Number of Tests and Criteria for Conformity 12.2.1 Tho rodshars selected in accordance with col Land 2 of Table 6 shall be inspected for freedom from defects (see 6) and dimensions (see 8). NOTE —The material required for chomieal analysis from exch of the yoda tntended for testing hall be Collected in secordance with IS 1817 12.2,2.1 In the case of determination of copper content, tonsile test and electrical resistivity teet, the lot shall be considered as conforming to the requirements of this standard if all the test results on different samples satisly the corresponding requirements. 12.2,2,2 The lot shall be declared as conforming to the requirement of other constituents if the single test result of chemical analysis obtained. for each constituent satisfy the corresponding requirement of the standard 12.8 Retest 12.8.1 1F the test resulte of chemical analysis fails to satisly the roquiroments for any af the constituents, two more tests for thet constituent shall be done on the same aample in ‘order to confirm that the analysis has been done properly. If both the test results satisfy the relevant requirements, the lot shall be considered as confirming to the this standard, otherwise not, freCEINED NO 110 12.3.2 If the test results on any sample for tensile test and electrical resistivity test, fail to satisfy the requirements for any of the ‘mechanical properties and electrical resistivity, two mora teats ehall he done on the sample selected from the same lot. If both the test resulta eatiefy the relevant requivements the lot shali be considered as conforming to this, standard, otherwise not, 13 PACKING ‘The material shall be packed in bundles, boxes, eases or crates so a8 to ensure the sale transporation of the material and avoid damage in transit. 14 MARKING 14.1 Each package tagged with suitable metal tag shall bear the marking made on thom with the grade of material, name of the manufacturer, the mass, size, lot number, date 18 618 : 2000 of manufacture and any such information required by the purchaser. 14.1.1 The material mnay also be marked with the Standard Mark. 14.1.2 The uso of Standard Mark is governed by the provision of the Bureau of indian. Standards Act, 1986 and the Rules and Regulations made there under. The details of the conditions under which the licence for the use of Standard Mark may be granted t0 manufacturers or producers may be obtained from the Bureau of Indian Standards. 18 INFORMATION TO BE GIVEN BY THE PURCHASER This standard contains a number of clauses which the purchaser is allowed to exercise an option. The lst of information to be given by the purchaser in respect of these clauses is, given in Annex C.
