Theres a book called Deadliest Sea: The Untold Story Behind the Greatest Rescue in Coast
Guard History.

In this book the author tells a true story about a man named Ryan: He is lost in the ocean;
only has a life jacket on, he just witnessed his boat swallowed up by the ocean.
All hope is lost, his heart is pounding. All he sees is dark night, the waves being lit up by the
moon. and he is trying to stay afloat. Huge waves are coming down on him, and he is going
in & out of consciousness.

He tells the story what seemed like being in the ocean for days was actually a few hours.
He notices a light in a distance, he is trying to stay calm.
Then he notices a chopper flying close by.. coming towards him.

The chopper hones in on Ryan.. The light boom.. blinded his eyes.. the door of the chopper
opens.. and that moment he knew he was going to be saved…

He gets in the chopper and search continues for the others lost in Sea!

What a story:

SEA, BUT LOST IN SIN.

TEXT: JOSHUA 2:1

Now Joshua the son of Nun sent out two men from Acacia Grove to spy secretly,

TITLE: THE SCARLET CORD

POINT 1: YOUR FAMILY CAN BE SAVED NO MATTER WHAT YOUR
FAMILY BACKGROUND IS

The scarlet cord represents the blood of Jesus!

This story represents how the blood of Jesus can save us.

The word salvation means Rescue.

Joshua would be a savior for Rahab, but a judge of the rest of Jericho. In the same
way, Jesus is a savior for those who trust Him, but a judge for those who reject Him.

The battle is for our families.

Our families are worth the fight.

The blood of Jesus has caused us to be a new creation in Jesus Christ!

Regardless of your background.
Saved her whole family!

If any man be in Christ! Old things have passed away all things become new!
There is nothing in your past stronger than the blood of Jesus Christ!

Devil can’t reach down my past! Accuse me…

OT: Ark of covenant: Manna, Rod, Table of stone.. put them in the box. The mercy seat.
They took blood sprinkle the blood on the mercy seat.
It was in the holy of holies. no one could see the ark of the covenant. people could not
get to it.
All 3 of those things rooted in their failures of Israel.
Threw the stone down…
Dead stick: The one that comes alive. they were filled with rebellion. Budded
Manna: they complained and winged.

Philistine. stole the ark. & tried to take out the past failure…
God took their worst failure & the enemy tried to pull out their worst failure... & the
bible says…50,000 were slain…

Because the mercy & blood has covered your past!

Maybe your parents were alcoholics.
Today the Blood of Jesus can save & set free.

POINT 2: TAKE THE CORD & BIND IT IN THE WINDOW

He didn’t say:

If you want your family saved, you must do something about it.
You put it there.

Every time you pray: Call their names.

Fast, pray for them. Put the cord their mum, dad.
Believe God for them!

Have I got the blood!

If we don’t have the blood.

Bind it, tie it!

You must be born again!
That no wind of doctrine can blow it away.

Preach the word: men will not endure sound doctrine!

No boyfriend, no g/f, no homebrew, can remove that cord!
The cord holds!

Believe on the Lord: You shall be saved!

Id rather have this than a billion dollars!

Its going to require effort on your behalf.

Once that cord was there.

The blood cleanses and covers, there is a scarlet thread that can secure our families.
Make Jesus Lord of your home, and your household.
