community-action initiatives. It gives us experiential opportunities to learn in real world
contexts and develop skills of community engagement.

Overall, these portfolio gives us information and understanding regarding

SECOND SEMESTER

Community Engagement, Solidarity, and Citizenship

OUTPUT 1: Community Profile

ABSTRACT

It is a comprehensive and structured set of information describing the characteristics of

the Barangay Mohon. It is also serves as an information of the key features, needs, and
resources of a community. It describes how the community of Mohon natural
environment, land uses, economy, social, history and cultural tradition. By doing so, it
describes the needs, resources, and challenges of the community.

It is important in identifying landmarks and livelihood, that can be used in determining

the problems that the barangay Mohon is facing and formulate possible solution or action
plan. Moreover, through this it can able to identify the strengths, weaknesses, needs, and
problems of a community, to make decisions about health services and to justify the
allocation of resources on why there are no proper drainage system in barangay Mohon.

REFLECTION

In making our community profiling, I was able to explore the different landmarks in
barangay Mohon. I learned many things on the project and also from the people that I
interact with various personality. Which gives us all, together with my members, a
challenge because we observe and do some surveys in some residents in baranggay
Mohon. It's not that hard for since the barangay officials of Mohon gave us some
information about the baranggay, which makes it easy for us to do our task.

To sum up, all the hustle, the long walk under the sun, cramming and stress long hours
working with this profiling was worth it.
OUTPUT 2: ACTION PLAN

ABSTRACT

Community Action Plan used to build the capacity of community members in taking
action in accordance with the problems, needs, potentials and of the community. It
describes what barangay Mohon wants to achieve, what activities and strategies are
required during a specified time period, what resources and budget are needed to have a
proper drainage system. Moreover, to take appropriate action for their problem, is the
framework for the implementation of this action plan.

It is very significant for the reason that it helps people to take realistic and concrete steps
towards participatory development planning in order to improve low income,
malnutrition, traffic and few cases of robbery in barangay Mohon. Also, by bringing
everyone together to think and discuss about resources and group involvement, this tool
increases awareness about the skills and resources already available in the community.

REFLECTION

Since barangay Mohon faced with different issues and problems. We conduct some
action plan to minimize the problem that the barangay has faced. By creating action plan,
we learn to participate in every activity they had such as volunteering in cleaning the
canals in our barangay which has a big impact to us. Implementing this plan is very
significant to us because it helps people in the community stand and build an appropriate
action against any problems in barangay.

Overall, I see the development of my members and myself despite all the stress and
cramming for this action plan. It was a great privileged and honor for this output, it gives
me a lot of lessons and information while I’m in the process of making this action plan.
OUTPUT 3: Compiled Activities

ABSTRACT

Community Engagement, Solidarity and Citizenship is the process wherein community

groups work mutually to address circumstances and situations that impact the wellbeing
of those groups. It sustains and develop a working relationship between institutions and
one or more community teams, to better help them both to understand and work on the
need’s situation that the community encounter. Moreover, this contains all the compiled
activities in the second semester in Community Engagement, Solidarity and Citizenship.

Reflection

These activities advocate us to take part of our community. This output shows how we
conduct and interview some of the residents of Barangay Mohon including the vendors.
In making all this outputs it helps me to understand more about the importance of
community engagement as well as the most effective way to engage people in addressing
public health issues and concerns. I learned that we should interact to other people here in
our barangay because we are one and we are part of this community.

CONCLUSIONS
Community engagement, solidarity, and citizenship make us widen our
knowledge of our barangay where the place is being focused on, namely, Barangay
Mohon. This subject, which is community engagement, gives us an opportunity to gain
more knowledge about some places by exploring and doing some stuff for the sake of our
output, and it's quite enjoyable since we could improve our skills and enhance our critical
thinking skills by just making all these given outputs. We will be able to discover this
place, how people here manage their everyday lives, their culture, and what makes their
place unique and more. And it was such a great pleasure for us, too, to be together with
my member, since we could have the chance to get to know each other while observing
and discovering that place. This subject teaches us to practice working cooperatively with
and through groups of individuals linked by geographic proximity, special interest, or
similar circumstances to address challenges affecting those people's well-being .
