CPU: The CPU is the brain of a computer, containing all the circuitry

needed to process input, store data, and output results.

RAM SLOT : A memory slot is responsible for temporarily


storing data in a computer's RAM (Random Access Memory),
a type of volatile memory that allows the system to access
data quickly.

SOUTHBRIDGE: it is used to control the IO functioning.Examples


of I/O interface connections controlled by southbridge are USB, serial, IDE
and ISA.

NORTHBRIDGE : is bridge that manages communication between Central


Processing Unit (CPU) and parts of motherboard.

BIOS : Is the program a computer's microprocessor uses to


start the computer system after it is powered on.

USB PORT : allow USB devices to be connected to each other and transfer
digital data over USB cables.

CPUI SOCKET : is a single connector between a microprocessor and


motherboard.

PCI SLOT : allows you to install a wide variety of expansion


cards including: Graphics or Video cards. Sound cards.

AGP SLOT : is used to connect graphic cards to a computer's motherboard.

ISA SLOT: used to add a video card, a network card, or an


extra serial port.

PARRALEL PORT : to transmit or receive data down multiple


bundled cables to a peripheral device such as a printer.

FLOPPY DISK CONTROLLER: controls the reading and writing


functionality of a floppy drive.

IDE CONTROLLER : is a device that is used to connect IDE devices


to a computer system.

CMOS BATTERY: powers your laptop's BIOS firmware, which is


responsible for booting up your computer and configuring data
flow

POWER CONNECTOR: it is used to connect the power wire


and act as the vital link between a device and its source of
power.

MOUSE AND KEYBOARD PORT: . It is used to connect a


computer mouse or keyboard to an IBM compatible computer.

DUAL IN LINE PACKAGE(DIP): is a type of electronic package


used for electronic components, such as integrated circuits
(ICs).

HEATSINK: is to properly remove heat from device components to


improve device performance and extend its life.

CLOCK GENERATOR: it generates the clock signals and help in


channeling these signals to the designated places in the circuit board.
