CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

This chapter serves as an introductory chapter. It contains the Background of

the Study, Statement of the Problem, Scope and Delimitation, Significance of the
Study and Definition of Terms.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Technology is an important part of students' lives.Incoparating technology into

the classroom has proved to be beneficial yet also has some drawbacks.Technology
has helped student willingness and engagement and allows for the enhancements
learning. According to Fisher, et.al (2014)."The need for construction and
engagement means that the best types of learning will be those that involve choices
that the student can make, and learning where there are meaningful contexts where
the student is engaged" .
The Covid-19 pandemic has led to an inevitable surge in the use of digital
technologies due to the social distancing norms and nationwide lockdowns. People
and organizations all over the world have had to adjust to new ways of work and life.
We explore possible scenarios of the digital surge and the research issues that arise
NP Rahul De (2020). Internet services have seen rises in usage from 40 % to 100 %,
compared to pre-lockdown levels.Video-conferencing services like Zoom have seen a
ten times increase in usage, and content delivery services like Akamai have seen a 30
% increase in content usage (Branscombe, 2020).
UNESCO (2020) has reported that around 320 million learners are affected in
India, of which about 34 million belonged to the tertiary level of education. In
response to the pandemic of Covid-19 in the beginning of 2020, Indonesia is one of
may countries which tries out the implementation of EFL online classes. The
application of online classes was decided nationwide in Indonesia since the
education policy makers decided to apply a rule to change the offline classes into
online classes in mid-march, 2020. This decision was taken following the Covid-19
outbreak (Nartiningrum and Nugroho, 2020).
The global pandemic of COVID-19 pandemic has fundamentally affected nearly
every area of life, including education , and Philippines has not been an exception.
COVID-19 episode are experiencing issues finishing on the web work without their
teachers' in-person direction. It tends to be disappointing when a teacher doesn't
react to an email as fast as like, or when understudies don't comprehend a task
because their educator isn't there to show the exercise, according to SJ Express
(2020).

.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The primary aim of this study is to determine the impact of electrical gadgets or the

ideas and knowledge which related to their study

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK / THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

The goal of this study is to educate, enlighten, and provide resources that
will help and encourage the readers to what the research and recent information

reveals about the correlation of educational thoery and integration of these mobile
technologies in the academic performance of students.
Everywhere in education, from the small rural of K-12 school district to the large
metropolitan college of higher education, mobile technology is being considered,
implemented, and then looked at again for further implementation. The number of
new current mobile wireless technologies implemented for the direct impact of
student learning is staggering. Universities is the United States reveal that 90
percent of public universitiesand 80 percent of private universities have some level
of mobile wireless technology (Swett, 2012). Hence, according to Swett (2012) the
above requirement indicates that in the not too distant future more and more
educational institutions are going to not embrace but require the use of mobile
technologies.
