1. Locate the power button, usually found near the keyboard or on the side of your laptop.
2. Press and hold the power button until the laptop starts up. You will see the manufacturer’s logo
3. Once the laptop boots up, you’ll typically be prompted to log in with a username and password,
4. Familiarize yourself with the desktop layout, you’ll usually find icons for files, folders, and
applications.
5. If you’re not already connected to the internet, click on the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray
6. Select your Wi-Fi network, enter the password if prompted, and wait for the connection to
establish.
7. Click on the Start button or open the Dock to access a list of installed applications and settings.
8. To customize your laptop’s settings, open the “Settings” or “Control Panel” (found in the Start
Menu or Dock).
9. When you’re done using your laptop, you can choose to shut it down completely or put it to
sleep.
10. To put your laptop to sleep, simply close the lid or use the sleep/hibernate option in the Start
Menu or Dock.
11. When your laptop’s battery is low, connect the charger to the laptop and plug it into a power
outlet.
12. When you’re finished using your laptop, close the lid and store it in a protective case or sleeve
to prevent damage.
