ACTIVITY PROPOSAL
I. Rationale
Republic Act No. 11166 also known as An Act Strengthening the Philippine Comprehensive
Policy on Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
Prevention, Treatment, Care, and Support, and, Reconstituting the Philippine National Aids Council
(PNAC), Repealing for the Purpose Republic Act No. 8504, Otherwise Known as The "Philippine Aids
Prevention and Control Act of 1998", and Appropriating Funds Therefore” ("Philippine HIV and AIDS
Policy Act") whereas (1) the state shall respect, protect, and promote human rights as the cornerstones of
an effective response to the country's HIV and AIDS situation.
The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) has emerged as the single most formidable
challenge to public health, human rights, and development in the new millennium. Spreading knowledge
and awareness about HIV is one of the key strategies utilized in the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS
worldwide. Inadequate knowledge and risky practices are major hindrances in preventing the spread of
HIV.
In many ways, HIV/AIDS education plays a vital role in its management. One of the most
important things it does is make people realize that everyone should know their status. Education is
therefore a key component of our core service offering and is strongly recommended as a minimum
HIV/AIDS intervention.
The LGU of San Vicente Palawan through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development in
partnership with the Municipal Health Office facilitate the World’s Aids Day Celebration to be
participated with resort owners and selected parents from every barangay which will be held on
December 17, 2021 at Municipal Gymnasium at exactly 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon.
