JOURNAL

A ficture. I exclaimed that a person has what it takes to play or don't. There come to transpire a moment
when it's beyond than just a game. And as an individual, I neither grab the chance to have one step
forward or walk away.

This was already my second exposure to VGDH Operating Room ( Special Area), and as for rules before
we can start any duty, we first have a short orientation regarding the different procedures of the
institution as given to us by our clinical instructor Sir Marlone Villadar. We arrived at the hospital at
exactly 7:00 o'clock in the morning. After observing and listening to the orientation. Our PCI then
discusses the different procedures done in the OR, the responsibilities of the Circulating and Operating
nurse and I must say it's a big responsibility. Listening is very crucial as this gain our knowledge to the
different things we must memorize. We saw different instruments used in every procedures, and we
also saw the inside of the OR. As this was my second exposure already I still can't help to be mesmerized
again. We also familiarized with the different staff that will be useful for our list of cases later on. We
were also told the do's and don't inside and outside of the OR.

I've learned a lot. I've learned the importance of sterility, the different medications and it's importance
and how crucial it is for the patient. I've learned that knowledge is not enough, skills must be present at
all times as well. We also saw how hospitals take care of their patient during their most valuable state
and therefore inspire me more to finish my studies and work. At the end of the day it's always been
about the patient lives you save.
