Why Shouldn't We Condone Absenteeism
Firstly, it can disrupt the company's productivity. One of the main reasons why we
shouldn't allow absenteeism is because it can have a negative impact on productivity. When
someone is absent from work, the tasks that should be completed by him will be delayed or
even not carried out. This will certainly interfere with efficient work methods and can cause a
decrease in the quality of work.
Secondly, it can create an unfair work environment. When someone is often absent
and without being given strict consequences, this directly proves that discipline in the work
environment is not valued. It is also unfair to those who are consistently present and doing
their jobs well. Therefore, allowing absenteeism will damage the spirits of those who are
trying to do their best.
Finally, absenteeism can spread in the work environment. People may feel that there
are no consequences or responsibilities for them. Absenteeism that is ignored can spread and
affect the motivation and performance of others. In addition, absenteeism can hurt team
productivity, reduce work efficiency, and potentially hurt the company's overall finances.
It is clear that, based on the above reasons, why we shouldn't condone absenteeism. It
is important for us to encourage discipline and responsibility in carrying out our duties and
obligations. In order to achieve success both individually or as an organization, it is important
that we neither forgive nor ignore absenteeism.
