Cybersecurity, Cyber Threats and Promoting International Cooperation on Cyber

Cybersecurity has marked itself as one of the most important aspects of any government’s
security. This is proven due to the fact that everything we do has, or will, become digitalized.
Japan recognizes the importance of this and wants to make cyber-attacks inexistent, as if it
were in the past.

Cyber Threats are becoming more of an issue than ever, turning into a powerful threat to
countries all over. The need for strong international collaboration to manage these risks is
clear by the increasing complexity and frequency of cyberattacks. Japan recognizes the
important role of this and wants to take further action upon this, especially due to the fact that
there have been data breaches which hacked over a billion devices, just in 2023. The fact of
the matter is that these risks have become far too overlooked and should be taken care of
seriously.

Collaboration and It’s importance In This:

The Country of Japan highlights the fact that when governments come together to resolve an
issue, the problem quickly dissipates, as seen in the event of the Ozone crisis of 1987. So, as
international collaboration seems to be an effective manner of pursuing a solution, Japan
strongly believes that this should be taken care of in the same way.

The fact of the matter is that cybersecurity is turning out to be an overlooked threat more than
ever, which calls for cooperation between nations. The cybersecurity crisis right now, may
not seem as big of a threat as is stated previously, but as all technological marvels, it can be
further enhanced, and not for the better.

So, to summarise, as cybersecurity threats don’t seem to be much of a problem, if not taken
care of, they can turn into much bigger ones. This is also the reasoning behind the promotion
of collaboration between nations all around the globe. So, wouldn’t it be smarter if the
nations represented here today teamed up to provide a solution for years to come, which will
also benefit nations around the globe.
