In the month of December 2023, totally 11

faculty members (Aero – 1; Civil – 7; Mech – 3)
from SoMC submitted their Research Proposal to
SERB – SURE 2023 funding scheme.

Collaboration with industry

GTRE – High Speed Bearing Testing Laboratory of
Aeronautical Engineering: A team of “General
Electrics” officials conducted important testing
followed by deliberations with Vel Tech Team, as
a part of consultancy project.

Awards and Recognition

SAE Aeronautical Chapter recognized

Dr. R. Jaganraj, HoD of Aeronautical Engineering
as a Technical Executive Committee Member for
AeroTHON 2023 Edition.

Paper Presentation in International Conference

1. Dr M Amala Jutsus Selvam and Dr S Padmanabhan of Automobile Engineering
presented a paper at International Conference on “Intelligent Computing, Advanced
Communication and Materials 2023” (IC2ACM '23) during December 21-23, 2023
conducted by RMK College of Engineering and Technology, Chennai.
2. Dr M Amala Jutsus Selvam of Automobile Engineering presented TWO papers at IEEE
4th International Conference on Communication, Computing & Industry 6.0 – 2023
C2I6-2023 during December 15-16, 2023 conducted by CMR Institute of Technology,
Bengaluru.
3. Dr M Vinod Kumar, Dr A Chithambar Ganesh and Dr J Cici Jennifer Raj of Civil
Engineering presented their technical papers individually at International Conference
on Condition Assessment, Rehabilitation & Retrofitting of Structures (CARRS 2023)
during December 10-13, 2023 conducted by Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad.
4. Dr A Geetha Selvarani and Dr G Kumar of Civil Engineering presented their technical
papers individually at at International Conference on Pollution Control for Clean
Environment-2023 (ICPCCE-2023) during December 15-16, 2023 conducted by Indian
Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar.
5. Dr S Christopher of Mechanical Engineering presented a paper at 10th International
and 50th (Golden Jubilee) National Conference on Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power
during December 20-22, 2023 conducted by Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur.

Internship at INSA France for doing “Major Project” during
December 2023, in total 23 students doing their
internships in various abroad institutions in this year 2023.

Engineering participated in the FDP on Quality Research Article Writing & Publishing
in High Impact Journals conducted by Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D
Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai during December 20-27, 2023.
2. TADINADA ADI SESHA SAI TEJA and M NAVNEETH REDDY of final year Automobile
Engineering presented a paper at the International Conference on 'Smart and
Sustainable Developments in Materials, Manufacturing and Energy Engineering
conducted by the NMAM Institute of Technology, Karkala, during December 19-20,
2023.
3. All the Full-Time research Scholars of Civil Engineering participated in the Six Days
