Volcanic eruptions
Standards in viewing video presentation.
All right it seems you are listening to the video I had presented to you.
Volcanoes
erupt when molten
rock called magma
rises to the surface.
Magma is
formed when the earth's mantle melts.
Melting may happen where tectonic plates are pulling apart or where
one plate is pushed down under another.
Magma is lighter than rock so rises towards the Earth's surface. As the
magma rises, bubbles of gas form inside it.
If magma is thick, gas bubbles cannot easily escape and pressure builds
up as the magma rises.
When the pressure is too much an explosive eruption can happen, which
can be dangerous and destructive.
F. Developing mastery (leads to Formative Assessment 3) Activity 1: Coke and Mentos Eruption
Direction: Through the given materials (coke and Mentos) try to put the
Mentos inside the coke bottle then based of what you have observe
describe why volcano erupts? And how it happens?
G. Finding practical applications of concepts and skills in Activity 2: ( Integration of Differentiated Instruction )
daily living
Based on the groupings let us have another activity. This activity will
test your other skills.
Directions: Each group are task to make poster, Poem, and jingle
describing how volcano erupts.
Group 1:
Poster
Group 2:
