LFD: Rotation 5

The RLE for this week was the output presentations. We have been given the task this
week of presenting the many activities we completed, both on our own and in groups. The
first activity is an interview activity with a mother from the family about common myths,
facts, and practices in pregnancy, labor, and delivery. It also includes questions about how
these practices help the pregnant client, what are the benefits and drawbacks if the client
won't follow these practices, and what advice you can give them through the course of the
week's rotation. I learnt a lot about pregnancy from the mother I spoke with. My awareness of
maternal health has expanded as a result of this interview activity.

The collaborative activity pamphlet, which contains information on safe and responsible
parenting in relation to DOH programs for mothers and children, was also presented on the
first day of rotation. Because this activity was a collaborative one, we all contributed to
making it more attractive and engaging. Our group has chosen to concentrate on the
significance of breastfeeding, its advantages, and the DOH programs focusing on providing
the best quality programs for mother and child because the content of the pamphlet is all
about safe and responsible parenthood related to the DOH programs regarding maternal and
child. We discussed the value of nursing in this exercise so that we may all benefit from one
another knowledge. Additionally, through doing this, we were able to gain a better
understanding of nursing and its significance for the infant.

Next, the presentation of an infomercial about the reproductive health of both males and
females was another collaborative activity that we engaged in on the first day of our rotation
this week. Through this activity, we were able to respond to questions about what people
should know, how to care for themselves, and what to do to prevent illnesses in the
reproductive system. And as future nurses, we must first comprehend all of this, as well as
each step involved in caring for our patients' reproductive systems through counseling and
education. We must also be able to comprehend and be knowledgeable about how to avoid
diseases of the reproductive system. We were able to spread information on reproductive
health through the presentation of this activity, such as the use of contraceptives like condoms
to fend off diseases like HIV/AIDS and other STDs. In this video, we also discuss the value
of family planning, which is crucial for boosting family health and providing nursing care for
pregnant women and young children.
The study of the RHU's vision and goal as they relate to mother and child nursing was
the last activity that was given on the first day of this week's RLE. In this activity, we
interviewed the RHU 1 program coordinator to learn more about the various maternal and
child programs that the RHU offers. Through this interview, we gained a lot of knowledge
about the RHU's programs and learned about the history of the programs that are concerned
with maternal and child health care. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to attend
the actual presentations for each group, but I was still able to learn a lot from the activities as
we completed them all during the prior rotation and had group discussions about them.

Additionally, each group presented an additional activity that was provided last week on
the second day of the rotation for this week. Different exercises for both solitary and group
work have been provided. The assigned group explains to us the functions of nurses in
prenatal care, such as advising and teaching pregnant women on the things that they must do
and what they should avoid, in the presentations of output for today. Through their
presentation, I was able to pick up fresh information and discover more about prenatal care,
among other things. Another group presented the results of their work, which addressed the
issues of what happens during prenatal visits, what you do as a nurse during prenatal visits,
what tests are performed at each prenatal visit, why prenatal visits are important, and what the
outcomes of good prenatal care and nutrition are.

In addition to the response we gave to our group, we gained fresh information from their
presentation that we could not have answered in our output. Food planning is the subject of
another presentation, which I find valuable since it helps me better grasp how to build a
patient's meal plan while taking various factors into account. And for the last presentation for
this week's RLE, our group discussed the Kirk Jones film, What to Expect When You're
Expecting. We answered some questions about pregnancy, expressed our opinions of the film,
and offered guidance on various pregnancy-related issues. The RLE this week was another
step in our lifelong learning as student nurses. We experienced new things that will soon be
helpful to us and learnt a lot this week, especially things regarding maternity and child health
nursing. We also learned new things by sharing the information that everyone has.
