The Perfect Solution for

Low Sodium Peanut

Butter

Peanut butter is a staple at our house. It goes

on almost everything! From apple slices, frozen
wa!es, bananas, to pasta and chicken. In
order to keep it that way, we had to find a low
sodium option. My Wife loves crunchy, and the
kids and I love smooth. We obviously needed a
solution that works for everyone. I tried tons of
the “natural”, “raw”, and “organic” products out
there, and basically you can sum them all up in
one word (uttered by my children): Blech!

To be honest, most
of those are tragic!
From the
separation, to the
texture, to the
graininess, it is all
too awful! no one
wants that.
Especially not kids!
One of the reasons
I have been
successful on this
low sodium
journey, is that my
family has bought into it as well. There are no
separate meals made in our house. Everyone
eats it, and the recipes have to pass approval
of my wife and three kids.

The perfect solution for Low Sodium Peanut

Butter is simple, that is why I choose Jif. Jif
recently came out with their Naturals line. It
comes in Crunchy, Creamy, and a Honey
Creamy. There is only 80 mg of sodium per 2
tablespoons. They also have introduced their
Simply Jif line, which drops the sodium to 65
mg per 2 tablespoons. To me, Jif has always
had a superior taste to other brands, so I was
thrilled to find these on the market. The great
thing about a major brand like Jif
manufacturing low sodium products is that it is
usually easier to find these low sodium
products at out local grocery stores.

This is the peanut butter I use in my Low

Sodium Thai Peanut Chicken Noodles. Check
out the recipe here. What are your favorite
things with peanut butter? Let me know in the
comments below!

11/5/15: We enjoy just plain peanuts or

almonds ground in our store’s grinder (in
most cases at The Fresh Market). Many
“natural” food stores have them. Just be
certain that they keep them fresh.

You may want to look at Crazy Richard’s

Natural Creamy Peanut Butter, outside of
separation it is good, I think it would stand
up to JIF
Found at local Walmart in Putnam CT
