Drivers are dropping out of a city on Uber. How do you figure out what's going on?

Clarifying Questions-
1. Is it a Metro city or tier-2 or tier-3 city
2. Is it a sudden drop or it dropped gradually?
3. Have we done some changes in our business model?
4. Dropping out means- Are they deleting the app or number of driving hour
have decreased.
5. Have their any Govt rule have come up in the city
6. Have we made any changes in the app that is making it difficult for the
drivers to use it.

Now using the information we will get into the internal & external factors
Internal problems could be-
 Bug in the app
 Server Issue
 New update which the drivers are unable to understand

External problems could be-

 Competitors- Are competitors like ola launched a new model or are they
paying better
 Driver to customer ratio- Demand of driver increases with increase in riders
 Are they getting lesser rides than they used to get before
 Is there in legal changes in the law of the city which is related to public
transports
 Have any natural calamity happened in the city

If the issue is internal I will talk with engineering team on the same about the bug or
the wireframe of the new feature.

If the issue is external -

We will also work on launching better commissioning model for our drivers and

We will add more cars so that they will get more rides on peak hours as limited
number of vehicle can be a reason of not getting enough rides
If it is change in law then every competitor will also be affected this one will be
seasonal and once driver gets adjusted to the law they will return
Natural calamities effect last for a few days and drivers will themselves return after
it so we will go with normal product cycle here.
