Objective:
This is a social website for encouraging people to abstain from various addiction causatives.
It works on the principles of health promotion and strengthening the society. It not only makes the
users aware of the diseases caused but also how to get rid of their respective addictions. It also
provides details of various rehabilitation centers based on the geographical location of the user.

Abstract:
The term "obsession" is used in many contexts to describe an addiction, compulsion, or
excessive physical dependence or psychological dependence, such as: drug addiction, crime,
alcoholism, compulsive overeating, problem gambling, computer addiction, pornography, etc.

In medical terminology, an addiction is a state in which the body relies on a substance for
normal functioning and develops physical dependence, as in drug addiction. When the drug or
substance on which someone is dependent is suddenly removed, it will cause withdrawal, a
characteristic set of signs and symptoms. Addiction is generally associated with increased drug
tolerance. In physiological terms, addiction is not necessarily associated with substance abuse since
this form of addiction can result from using medication as prescribed by a doctor.

Existing System:
The system involves paper work in the form of maintaining various files and manuals.
Maintaining critical information in the files and manuals is full of risk and a tedious process.

The existing system needs to save his information in the form of excel sheets or Disk Drives.
There is no sharing is possible if the data is in the form of paper or Disk drives. It’s a limited system
and fewer users friendly. Searching of particular information is very critical it takes lot of time. The
system doesn’t have flexible based services. Secure access of confidential data is not possible. This
system doesn’t have the capability of spread the awareness of direct or indirect for different
addictions.
 There is no registration and profile management is implemented in the existing system. The
existing system user interface doesn’t provide to interface for interact doctors and members. The
existing system not probably mentions the various rehabilitation centers according to geographical
location of the users. Providing automatic newsletters for different scenarios is tedious job. The
existing doesn’t have the capability for work as a 24 X 7 mode.

Proposed System:
The development of this new system contains the following activities, which try to automate
the entire process keeping in the view of database integration approach. User Friendliness is
provided in the application with various controls provided by system Rich User Interface. It can be
accessed over the Internet. The user information files can be stored in centralized database which can
be maintained by the system. This can give the good security for user information because data is not
in client machine.
Authentication is provided for this application only registered members can access. The
proposed system should spread awareness about the ways in direct or indirect way. Secure
registration and profile management facilities for registered members and doctors. A well defined
list of counseling and rehabilitations centers details are displayed in the proposed system. The
proposed system works as 24 X 7 manners. Flexible services based architecture will be highly
desirable for future extension. Secure access of confidential data can be achieved. Exportable report
generation schemes will provide more convenience to the users in this system.

Web Registration
The system has a process of registration. Every user need to submit his complete details in
the form of registration. Whenever a user registration completed automatically user can get a user id
and password. By using that user id and password user can log into the system.

Administrators
Administrator should provide secure registration and profile management facility for
registered members and doctors. Admin can provide discussion forums, chat, and mail facility to
members to interact with doctors, conduct counseling for clarifying the member’s doubts. Another
task done by the administrator is he can generate reports, log files, backup, and recovery of data any
time.

Doctors
Doctors may be a physicians or counselors. Members are classified into various groups
namely aware, addicted, etc on registration, through this status can be modified by doctors. Base on
these, e-conferences will be held for certain groups.
Doctors need to verify the member profile and chose different counseling therapies. For
every counseling session the profile will be updated by the administration.

Group Members
Group members will have opportunities to run various anti-addiction awareness programs in
public places, and colleges. A regular news letters should be sent to registered users to spread
awareness.

To facilitate members to interact with doctors, conduct counseling and clear doubts via discussion
forms, chat, mail etc.

Visitors
A visitor is guest for this system. For these visitors the system should provide awareness
about the ways a person may fall into addictions like alcohol, illicit drugs, medications, tobacco and
cyber addiction. To shed light on the various success stories of those who have been benefited and
changed their life though these kind of counseling. This site lists out of the various rehabilitation
centers according to the geographical location of the user.

Search:
This system provides the search facilities for admin, doctors, volunteers and group members
whatever he required.

Reports
Different kind of reports is generated by the system.
Reports about the participation of various members in the discussion forums etc.
Activities of physicians and counselors by area.
Users who have benefited from the rehabilitation centers suggested by the system.

Authentication
Authentication is the module there providing security for this application. Security is in the
form of checking credentials. That means checking that user is valid or not valid. Credentials are like
username and password.
