FCCLA Planning Process

IDENTIFY CONCERNS

Our concerns include unsafe and unsanitary conditions in the kitchen. The kitchen safety and sanitation
guidelines are not very well known. Our FACS teacher needed an informational video, so we decided to
create this video. This video was used to spread awareness on the importance of kitchen safety and
sanitation, especially in FACS classrooms.

SET A GOAL

Our goal is to inform our audience about kitchen safety and sanitation. We wanted to make a fun,
informational video under five minutes that our audience could learn from.

FORM A PLAN (WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, HOW, COST, RESOURCES, AND EVALUATION)
WHO: Tessa Hager and Tylin Hager
WHAT: bake cupcakes while teaching audience kitchen safety and sanitation
WHEN: December 29th, 2023
WHERE: Our grandparent’s kitchen
HOW: We will buy all ingredients, organize our script, and bake the cupcakes while filming the process
COST: The cost of the supplies for the cake was only $3.04 because we had most of the ingredients on hand.

EVALUATION: If we had to make any changes, we would refilm certain clips because not all of them were perfect.
Some clips weren’t able to be refilmed due to ingredients being mixed in the original clip.

ACT

We baked the cupcakes at our grandparent’s house, because they have a second kitchen where we could film without
interruptions. We filmed ourselves during the baking process, while practicing kitchen safety and sanitation.

FOLLOW UP
We believe we did a great job of including multiple characteristics of kitchen safety and sanitation, along with
instructions for the cupcakes. If we were to do anything differently to improve, we would try to improve our acting
skills. We both don’t typically like being in front of a camera, so we definitely stepped outside of our comfort zones for
this project. We edited the video to the best of our ability. To improve our project next time, we would get more
comfortable with the editing process.
