Talavera Poblana, a traditional Mexican ceramic

characterized by its beauty, is the result of fusion of
cultural influences over the centuries. However, this
ceramic was soon enriched by the influence of
various cultures, including the indigenous Mexican
and the Arab-Moorish. Talavera Poblana is a living
testament to Mexico's rich cultural history and
example of how different traditions can converge to
create something truly exceptional.

12th century origins in the Iberian peninsula

16th century Spanish artisans arrive in the city of Puebla, Mexico, bringing with
them the tradition of ceramics

1653: Talavera Poblana is mentioned for the first time in historical documents

17th and 18th centuries: Talavera Poblana experiences a boom and splendor, a
time when it spread throughout New Spain

20th century: Talavera Poblana becomes a symbol of Puebla cuisine and one of the
most important artistic manifestations

2019: Talavera ceramics were declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity

by UNESCO..
