4. Legal form of ,,Bubble Waffle Empire”

Bubble Waffle Empire will be a limited liability company. This form of

business will allow for Bubble Waffle Empire to determine its structure,
protect the owners’ assets, and build business credit. As LLCs are flexible in
how they operate, Erika and Greta can determine how profits are utilised.
LLCs also keep owners’ assets protected, which will allow for them to engage
in greater risks than a normal partnership, such as expanding. Unlike a
partnership, LLCs can develop business credit, which will allow for Erika to
keep track of financials through a business credit report and for Bubble
Waffle Empire to purchase future assets on account, rather than on the
owners’ personal credit. These advantages are why Bubble Waffle Empire is a
limited liability company.ū

5. Market and business competition of Bubble Waffle Empire

In order to set up a new business, it is fundamental to analyse the market and

business competition of the target area. For the analysis it is essential to
define the business and the market you are competing in. Our core business
is making and selling bubble waffles, in which there are some competitors in
are that we have chosen. Also, there are some similar cafes that can offer
simple waffles and other delights in Palanga, so we can assume them as our
competitors too.

The competitors of making and selling bubble waffles are:

1. Yogugu - a Lituanian yogurt, ice cream and waffle company.

a. Strength
Convenience - baker work quickly and keep long lines
moving, keeping wait times low. They also maintain an
image of high-quality products, giving customers a
confidence in how their beverage will taste.

b. Weakness
Higher price points - Starbucks charges relatively high
prices for premium beverages, making them less
attractive to some consumers.

2. Waffles Bar - a Lituanian waffles, ice cream, milkshakes, coffee and other
drinks bar.
a. Strength
A wide variety of products - Waffles Bar offers several
options that compliment a coffee. Thus, customers
know that Waffles Bar can offer options.

b. Weakness
Reputation - since it is a newly formed business it
might take a while for sales to occour and may rely on
social networking to get those sales.

BUSINESS PLAN - VILNIUS UNIVERSITY PAGE 14

3. Kingwinn - a Lithuanian restaurant where you can find coffee, bubble
waffles, fruits/ice cream cocktails, milkshakes, different kinds of taste ice
cream, cosy atmosphere.

a. Strength
Strong brand name - Kingwinn is known for their
waffles and coffee. Customers know what to expect
when entering a Kingwinn.
Effective marketing and advertising strategies -
Kingwinn has a strong marketing team that boosts sales
in Kingwinn on the country level.
b. Weakness
Unsure of standards, expectations that are going to be received and set by
customers - or Kingwinn will we be able to meet their requirements,
including designs, quality, time frames.

Competitors that make and sell other similar delights:

1. “Café banduke”
2. “Café o le”
3. Café “Juros akis”
4. “Manhattan ice dream”
5. “Coffee inn”
6. “Max” café
This analysis illustrates 9 major competitors in the business sector of Palanga.

Another important aspect that must be considered in starting our business.

The business models of our competitors are quite similar but their business
do not offer exactly the same products as ours. For example, we will offer for
our customers not only regular sweet waffles, but also waffles with meat or a

BUSINESS PLAN - VILNIUS UNIVERSITY PAGE 15

healthier choice: waffles with vegetables. Another difference is that we will
make not only waffles, but we will offer our coffee. The market competitors
offer food options that you can by from the van or order it in a little café.
Most of our competitors make and sell different kinds of desserts like waffles,
ice - ream, cakes, cupcakes.
It is obvious, that there are lots of market competitors who could have the
same target groups as we do.

BUSINESS PLAN - VILNIUS UNIVERSITY PAGE 16

6. Marketing and distribution

6.1. Product Strategy

The main products which are offered in ,,Bubble waffle Empire,, are different
kinds of waffles and coffee. These products will be high – quality and tasty
foods and beverages that are essential for Palanga industry during summer
season where a lot of tourists visits this city.

The company employs five workers: four salesmen/bakers and manager.

They are familiar with the market of Palanga city and the amount of tourists
that visits Palanga.

6.2. Distribution Strategy

The main way to distribute our services is the waffles themselves. Our
recipes are delicious and the portions are large. Waffles are different from the
simple ones because they are made with bubble pan that makes these waffles
interesting and different. They are attractive especially for children. The food
is fresh and satisfying, and the drinks are fulfilling and refreshing.

6.3. Promotion Strategy

The layout of the store will be convenient for both the customer and the
employees. Employees will individually craft customers’ beverages. After
producing each beverage, the employee will deliver the order to the
customer.
One of Bubble Waffle Empire’s goals is to be involved in the community.
Hosting fundraisers for local events and partnering with nearby businesses
will be crucial. This will give Bubble Waffle Empire both brand recognition
and community support, traits that are typically weak for a new business.

BUSINESS PLAN - VILNIUS UNIVERSITY PAGE 17

Another one of Bubble Waffle Empire’s goals is to hire a paid marketing
intern over the summer. This intern will assist the owners during the summer
months by handling the social media, connecting with other local businesses,
and building brand recognition. This will allow Boba Blended to compete
with the some of the marketing strengths that the competitors have.

While Bubble Waffle Empire’s competitors may seem daunting, success is

achievable. The combination of being a convenient location, affordable
pricing, and providing consistent quality will allow for Boba Blended to
become an intimidating competitor.

6.4. Price Strategy

Price of our waffles depends on flavours and toppings of bubble waffles. We

will train our staff to always describe and recommend items and to always
up sell. The key to a server’s success in up selling is the realisation that it
almost always brings in better tips because the checks are higher.

Bubble Waffle Empire will aggressively sell gift certificates. The strategy
behind gift certificate sales is simple and proven. Also we will do discounts.

8. Potential Risk for the Bubble Waffle Empire

In having a unique main product, bubble waffle, which is not so popular in

Lithuania, customers will be hesitant to try the products of Bubble Waffle
Empire. However, to ensure every customer is satisfied, Bubble Waffle
Empire will advertise the various other options available and the numerous
additives customers can have. By promoting this variety in Bubble Waffle
Empire’s marketing plan, Bubble Waffle Empire will also lower the threat of
competitors. Unlike Kingwinn and Waffles Bar, Bubble Waffle Empire does
not have an established brand name to begin. Investing in Bubble Waffle
Empire’s marketing will allow for Bubble Waffle Empire to begin creating a
respectable brand name for itself and allow for future expansion. With the
innovative blender vendors and other technologies in the store, we foresee
possible technological difficulties. For example, the blender vendors cease
operations. While our cash registers serve for the drive-thru customers, they
can also serve for the in-store customers. Similar to any business, employees
pose a risk to the company through the foreseeable mistakes employees
might make. However, the owners will train new employees through the
company programs to ensure any mistakes can be resolved quickly and
turned into a learning experience.
