1. Data analytics
Data analytics refer to the techniques used to analyze data to enhance productivity and
business gain. Data is extracted from various sources and is cleaned and categorized to
analyze various behavioral patterns.

2. 1. Data storage improvements


a. Solid state drives (SSD) and serial advanced technology attachment (SATA) drives will
increase performance and larger capacity that make data storage faster and more
affordable.
2.Business intelligence appliances
b. Plug and play appliances offer improved price performance ratios, simplified
administration, rapid installation and fast integration.

3. Data analytics is subset of business intelligence function. Data analytics encompasses a wide
range of mathematical statistical and modelling techniques. The reason for this is to
extracting knowledge from data. Other than that, data analytics as a tool that can be
grouped into two separate areas which is explanatory analytics and predictive analytics.

4. The common of big data challenges is data veracity, volume, variety and velocity. First is
volume, volume refer to the size of data sets that need to be analyzed and process. Second
is velocity, velocity refer to the speed with which data is generate. High velocity data is
generate with such a pace that it requires distributed processing and techniques. Third is
variety, variety refer to sources of big data. Such as structured, semi structured and
unstructured data. Lastly is veracity, veracity refer to the quality of data that being analyzed.
High veracity data has many records that are valuable to analyzed and that data contribute
in a meaningful way to the overall results.
