NARRATIVE REPORT

1ST RESEARCH CULMINATING ACTIVITY

The month of January symbolizes a new door of the beginnings but for students, it can

also be a month dedicated to global science. The Senior High School science teachers at

Muntinlupa National High School organized a research culminating activity for Grade 12

students on the 20th day of January 2023. The STEM students presented their original and

innovative ideas by utilizing the resources that are available in the community and turning them

into something more useful. All high school students were welcomed to participate and join in

the one-day capstone activity at MNHS that occurred in the Science, Technology, Engineering,

and Mathematics (STEM) Building.

The seven different class sections of the academic strand of STEM—1201, 1202, 1203,

1204, 1205, 1206, and 1207—have been assigned to specific locations along the hallway. The

day started with the students decorating their booths during their morning hours. The students

used recycled materials such as paper, kartons, bottles, containers, and cardboard in

developing and designing their booth. It demonstrates how creative and resourceful the STEM

students are. For the purpose of promoting their research, the students displayed their initial

materials, finished product, promotional video, and tarpaulin (also regarded as "tarpapel"). Two

members of each research group were tasked with presenting their research study, and one

was given the task of recording the event.

Mr. Ezekiel Abraham Ramos from STEM 1207 and Ms. Nuella Ramos from STEM 1205,

who served as emcees, started the program at 12:30 p.m. Ms. Loverene Dale Oribiada from

STEM 1202 led a brief hymn of thanksgiving to God to ask for a guidance in doing the research
culminating activity. The STEM students were then enthusiastically welcomed and thanked by

Mrs. Lyric Bantilles for their dedication and hard work in making the activity possible. She also

thanked the parents who provided the financial support required for the accomplishment as well

as the research advisers who had helped the students along the way.

After the touching introduction, the exhibit proper has begun. The various panelists are

assigned with the different STEM sections who will receive grades from them. The panelists

assigned to facilitate the section 1201 through 1207 were Mrs. Pascual, Mr. Gonzales, Mrs.

Andaya, Mr. Balistoy, Mrs. Bautista, Mrs. Bantilles, and Mrs. De Leon, respectively. The panelist

graded the presenters' overall performance using a set of criteria. They are looking for the

presenters to provide a clear illustration and explanation of the questions, hypothesis, variables,

investigative design, experimental procedure, presentation of results, conclusion, summary, and

references.

Mr. Gamuzaran and Mr. Marcos judged the other student-made materials, such as the

booth and promotional video. The tarpaulin was also evaluated by Ms. Kash and Mr. Del

Mundo.

Mrs. Daisy Delos Santos concluded the research culminating activity by offering her

congratulatory final remarks around 4:00 pm. She mentioned in her speech that everyone's

assistance was necessary for the activity to be successful. During the aforementioned activity,

all of the students and teachers had a great opportunity to share their thoughts, information, and

abilities. It ended with a round of applause for the hardworks and effort. The 1st Research

Culminating Activity has been a great success and has effectively served its purpose.
