2. PROJECT BRIEF:

Project Name: Naya Nazimabad Apartments (FL-05 T1,T2,T3 & T4)

Plot Area of the Basements: 112,172 sft.

3. INTRODUCTION & BACKGROUND:

Raft Slab of FL-5 (Tower 1,2,3 &4) located at Naya Nazimabad was planned b/w Grid A1 to
S1 and 1 to 57 which included 2 Ramps.
the waterproofing of Basement 2 of T1, T2,T3 and T4 was required because the previous
cold bituminous coating of retaining wall upto Ground floor was failed to serve its purpose
and water penetrates from retaining wall , construction joints of T1 and T2, T2 and T3 it was
also observed at number of location in basement that water keeps penetrating from the
top of raft thus initially it was difficult to identify exact location of points that needs to be
treated because of this firstly Construction Joint 2 and 3 was treated and retaining wall was
treated simultaneously after that water points between tower 2 and 3 were treated when
most of area of basement dried then waterproofing team moved to treat Construction joint
of tower 1 and 2 as well as water points between tower 1 and 2 where as retaining wall was
treated simultaneously .

5. RETAINING WALL
Retaining wall waterproofing Starts by Grinding the surface of wall , if water pressure of point is high then grout
(Cementitious) is injected then crystalline coating is done in 2 coats. After this joint between raft and retaining wall is
treated by chiseling, application of primer, then chamfer is made after this double coat of crystalline waterproofing is
done.

6. CONSTRCUTION JOINT:
Construction Joint is treated by chiseling the joint then drilling pressure points upto 1’ to 2’ based on pressure i.e.
higher the pressure greater will be depth then grout is injected with machine immediately after injection joint is
plugged with hardener and cement then double coat of crystalline waterproofing material is applied.

7. Water seeping Points:

Water seeping points are points in between construction joints these points are not construction joint or cold joints
and are treated by first chiseling the point up to required depth if steel happen to appear while chiseling then the
point is plugged with hardener then grout is injected and leveled with Non Shrinkage grout.
