CS 544 –Computer Networks II:

Network Services:
Course Description:

Qualitative and quantitative analysis of networks. A combination of analytical and

experimental analysis techniques will be used to study topics such as protocol delay,
end-to-end network response time, intranet models, Internet traffic models, availability of
web services and network management.
New knowledge provided to the student:
This is one of the subjects that I intend to recognize at destination, since I
consider that I have already acquired most of the knowledge and skills of it, having taken
the GITST subjects:
- Telecommunications networks and services (Second Degree). Code 95000023.
- Computer networks (Third Degree). Code 95000031
- Network computing (Third Degree). Code 95000038
- Corporate networks (Fourth Degree). Code 95000050
- Mobile communications networks (Fourth Degree). Code 95000050
- Sizing and operation of networks (Fourth Degree). Code 95000056
And from MUIT:
- Integration of networks, applications and content (First Master's degree). Code
93000799
- Communications networks (First Master's degree). Code 93000797

Validation would be requested for one of the two Master's subjects mentioned
above: “Integration of networks, applications and contents (First Master's Degree). Code
93000799” or “Communications networks (First Master's degree). Code 93000797”. In
previous courses, colleagues who have completed this master's degree have managed
to successfully recognize either of these two subjects at their destination. Both appear,
once again, in the “Transferable Subjects” document, which was worked on for students
from past promotions, and to which I have been able to have access. For all these
reasons, and as these are also Master's level subjects, I consider that I will be able to
process their recognition and validation successfully.

Credits: 3 C.H
Prerequisite: CS 542 Computer Networks I: Fundamentals

Justification for meeting the requirements:

The subject required for the prerequisites focuses on the analysis of the protocols used
in communication, as well as their architecture. Also in different types of transmission
and dissemination. This knowledge has been taught in several subjects throughout the
degree and master's degree, such as Mobile Communications Networks (Fourth
Degree), Network Sizing and Operation (Fourth Degree) or Computer Networks (Third
Degree).
