Online Courses Guidelines
1. Find a comfortable and quite place to attend the online course, ensuring minimum
disruptions while attending
2. Use a network/LAN cable connection instead of a wireless connection; it is more stable
3. Use a laptop or a desktop computer instead of smaller mobile devices to maximize the
available functionalities of the software. Use a computer with no restriction on accessing the
web
4. Use a headset if possible, so as to avoid noise from your background disturb other
participants. If a video camera or a microphone are not available, kindly inform the facilitator
to find some solution
5. During sessions, close all other programs, e.g. Outlook, Facebook, etc., because they take up
a lot of bandwidth
6. Prepare pen and paper for taking notes
7. Set your device’s volume to a tolerable level. Be on alert as some videos or animations with
audio shared on screen may play with a different volume level
8. Avoid sitting nearby magnetic equipment or materials such as mobile devices that will cause
distortion with sound systems, headsets and computer microphones
9. During the breaks you can leave the meeting and return to the session without closing down
Zoom link, as it may take you time to re-connect. To get some privacy during breaks, you can
turn off the camera and microphone
10. Be back on time for the course after each break and contribute to its smooth delivery 2
