HARDOX 450 is an abrasion resistant plate with a hardness of about 450 HB, intended for applications where demands are imposed on
abrasion resistance in combination with good cold bending properties. HARDOX 450 possesses very good weldability
APPLICATION Chrushers, sieves, feeders, measuring pockets, skips, journals, cutting edges, conveyors, buckets
knives, gears, sprockets, etc.

HEAT TREATMENT HARDOX 450 is not intended for further heat treatment
FABRICATION HARDOX 450 has obtained it's mechanical propenies by quenching. The propenies of the delivery
condition can not be retained after a preheating temperature above 480°F (250°C).
HARDOX 450 is not suited for applications requiring hot working at temperatures above 480°F (250°C)
since the material may then loose it's good propenies.

Appropriate health and saftey precautions must be taken when welding, cutting, grinding or
otherwise working on the product. Grinding, especially of primer coated plates, may produce dust
with high particle concentration. Our Technical Customer Service Department will provide further
information on request.
FLATNESSTOLERANCES Our mill equiment enables us to level plate in hot or cold condition.
When determining the deviation from flatness, the plate shall be placed on a flat surface. A straight
edge shall be placed on the plate, and the maximum vertical distance from the plate (as shown in
Fig. A and B) shall be measured.
The straight-edge shall rest on the plate at two points at least 1 in from the long side of the plate and
at least 8 in from its short side (4 in for tolerance class S).
