VISION:
As a Foundation, Cronasia Foundation, College, Inc., is envisioned to be the center of enriching indigenous culture in Southern Mindanao, that

expertise in providing excellent and accessible academic instruction, producing productive professional, who instill national pride while

instructions for academic excellence while providing accessible and conducive among the Filipino youth in their pursuance responsible and
competent professionals.

Course Description:

This course is intended primarily for students planning to apply to the Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education
Program. As such, the course is an intensive, major focused required course for prospective ECE/ECSE majors. Students who do
not intend to major in ECE/ECSE will be required to meet the same expectations as prospective majors.
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES: At the end of the course, students should be able to:

1. Make connections between historical antecedents and current approaches to research and curriculum development in the
education of young children.
2. . Compare and contrast the philosophical, theoretical and curricular differences of various programmatic models of early
childhood education.
3. Recognize the fundamental tenets of developmentally appropriate practice and apply those to specific classroom practices.
4. Describe the developmental changes in children’s cognitive, affective, social and emotional understanding and how these
influence early childhood education.
5. Recognize the need for individualization and develop strategies for meeting the needs of diverse children in the classroom.
6. Identify issues related to authentic assessment in early childhood education
7. Engage in personal reflection about one’s philosophy of teaching and its implications for early childhood education as well as
professional development as a teacher.
8. Develop an awareness of the importance of family, culture and community in young children’s development and learning.
9. Use knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for all young children and standards for knowledge to develop lesson
plans.

SEMI-FINAL EXAMINATION
Expectations from students:

The student’s responsibility is to come to each class prepared. She is also expected to take all examinations on the date scheduled. She is
expected to attend each class and participate actively in the discussions.

ACADEMIC DISHONESTY:
All students are expected to be academically honest. Cheating, lying and other forms of immoral and unethical behavior will not be tolerated.
Any student found guilty of cheating in examinations or plagiarism in submitted course requirements will (at a minimum) receive an F or failure
in the course requirement or in the course. Plagiarism and cheating refer to the use of unauthorized books, notes or otherwise securing help in
a test; copying tests, assignments, reports or term papers; representing the work of another person as one’s own; collaborating without
authority, with another student during an examination or in preparing academic work; signing another student’s name on an attendance sheet;
or otherwise practicing scholastic dishonesty.

POLICY on ABSENCES:
The allowed number of absences for students enrolled in a 3-hour class held once a week is a maximum of 3 absences - based on student
handbook. Request for excused absences or waiver of absences must be presented upon reporting back to class. Special examinations will be
allowed only in special cases, such as prolonged illness. It is the responsibility of the student to monitor her own tardy incidents and absences
that might be accumulated leading to a grade of “FA.” It is also her responsibility to consult with the teacher, chair or dean should her case be
of special nature.

Grading System:

3. COURSE RULES
 Using cellular phones must be turned OFF during class hour. This includes instant messages and auditory
warnings.
 Performing tasks which is not related to the lesson is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
 Always follow the acronym “CLAYGO” Clean as You Go

4. REQUIREMENTS
 Pass all the requirements.
 No 80 and below grades for Prelim, Midterm, Semi- Final & Finals
 Never be absent.
