A BRIEF HISTORY OF

COMAGAYCAY SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH

The Comagaycay Seventh-day Adventist Church is located at San Andres Town, province of

Catanduanes. It was established since 2011 when a crusade led by Pastor Nestor Dayson happened

in the said town. Before the crusade happened, there was a ground preparation led by Greg Olivan

III, a layman, now an ordained Pastor. This crusade was able to baptized eighty-eight souls. At first,

the brethren’s rent a small house and used it as their place of worship. Until April 2013 when a

temporary church building was built with the help of Southern Luzon Mission and some brethren’s.

The temporary church building is built with light materials and as the time pass by, some parts of the

church has become termites’ place. Because of this the brethren’s decided to renovate it and started

to save fund.

December 2016 typhoon Nina came with strong winds and that’s the time when the church

building became totally broken. The Pili tree fall down on the church, there was nothing left with the

church except the floor. As of now, the brethren’s of Comagaycay uses the house of a member as a

place of worship.

Today, the brethren’s is eager to rebuild the church building and to start this humble dream

they were soliciting donations in Catanduanes and other places. They do not want the church

building to disappear for good just like what happened to some members of the church who

disappeared one by one. The brethren’s of Comagacay believe that God will help them bring back

the backslide members and invite many souls in San Andres.
