Do not connect voltages to a current input exceeding ±5 V. Otherwise, the electronics


module will be damaged, as the permissible max. current of ±100 mA is exceeded.
The terminals 3, 7, 11, 15, 19, 23, 27, and 31 must not be wired.

Operating Modes
The module occupies four process data words in Depending on the operating mode, the

Prior to and after the start, all process data output words are preset to the value 0000hex. In this way,
the operating mode is preset for a process data update of all eight channels in one cycle. The input
currents (4 mA to 20 mA) per channel are represented in binary with eight bits.

INTERBUS IN Process Data Word


The assignment of the four proces data input words depends on the operating mode.
8-Bit Mode (Set With Control Word 8100 hex)
In the 8-bit mode, the values of the eight channels are transmitted in the INTERBUS ring with one
cycle. The measured values are represented in 8-bit straight binary format.

12-Bit Mode (Set With Control Word 8101 hex, 8102 hex, 8103 hex or 8104 hex)
The measured values of four channels are transmitted with every cycle. Two cycles are necessary
to transmit the measured values of all eight channels. The input voltages are encoded with 12 bits
using two’s complement.
