Wedding planning check list

Sponsored by TheMaltaFlorist

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT

12 – 18 months before the wedding

A. How to get started

Announce engagement.

Establish a wedding date.

Decide whether you would like a church wedding or a civil ceremony

Determine Size of wedding.

Determine how formal you would like the wedding to be.

Set a budget.

Decide whether you will invite guests with children or not.

B. Next Step if you would like a church wedding. (skip this section if you are having a

civil ceremony)

If you have decided on a church wedding – book your preferred church.

Before booking check with the church – how much set up time your suppliers will have

(remember you will probably need singers, videographer, and florist to set up and they need

to have enough time, or you will get charged extra for a rushed setup)

Check with the church whether they have a carpet you can use or if you need to rent

from a separate supplier.

Check with your preferred church if there are any fees or donations that need to be

made so this can be budgeted in your total budget.

Contact your closest preferred church to enquire about ta Kana Courses.

Speak to a priest you or your family has a relationship with to book him to perform your

wedding mass.

C. Next step

Start looking at venues depending on your wedding size (we will be launching a list of

venues in the coming weeks depending on size and catering they accept) so keep following

the group.

- Start gathering quotes from the following vendors (again we will be making lists of

these with their websites):

Photographer

Videographer

Caterers (if you chose a venue with open catering)

DJ/Band

Florists (we recommend you fill out our sponsors consultation form to get one of your

florist quotes: https://app.curate.co/form/the-malta-florist/33b61c4f-1c76-41f7-86e6-

8f97f8050ed3 )

Check with the florist you chose if they offer décor of the venue – if they do not look into

quotes from decorators.

Make-up artist.

Hairdresser

Think about colour palettes for bridal party clothes and flowers

Start looking at styles of wedding wear online that you like so you know what you want

when you start shopping.

Note: Ask your vendors how many weddings they accept per day – a vendor that accepts 1

wedding per day will offer a better service than one that books several weddings per day

and you might want to pay that little bit extra to avoid the stress caused by vendors who

overbook.
