Example movements:
• Walk - The walk is a transfer of weight from one foot to the
other. Usually the heel touches first.
• Run - The run is a transfer of weight from one foot to the other
however, the body is propelled into the air and suspended
between run steps.
• Jump - The from one or both jump required the body to push
off feet. Most common is a two foot take off and two foot
landing. A jump can take off on one foot and land on two or take
off from two feet and land one foot.
Non-Locomotor Movements
Non Locomotor Movements - these are movements
that occur in the body parts or the whole body and do
not cause the body to travel to another space.
Example movements:
• Twist - a partial rotation of body parts around an axis.
1. Cardiovascular Endurance
Cardiovascular endurance refers to the ability of the heart, lungs, and
circulatory system to work together efficiently to supply oxygen and
nutrients to the body during sustained physical activity.
2. Muscular Strength
Muscular strength refers to the amount of force a muscle or muscle group can
generate during a single maximal contraction.
3. Muscular Endurance
Muscular endurance refers to the ability of a muscle or muscle group to
perform repeated contractions over an extended period.
4. Flexibility
Flexibility refers to the range of motion around a joint or series of joints. Good
flexibility can improve posture, balance, and reduce the risk of injury
5. Body Composition
Body composition refers to the proportion of fat, muscle, bone, and other
tissues in the body. Maintaining a healthy body composition is essential for
overall health and fitness.
6. Power
Power refers to the ability to generate force quickly. It is a combination of
strength and speed.

and efficiently.
