The word Harā is the form of addressing the
energy of the Lord, and the words Kṛṣṇa and
Rāma are forms of addressing the Lord Himself.
Both Kṛṣṇa and Rāma mean "the supreme
pleasure," and Harā is the supreme pleasure
energy of the Lord, changed to Hare in the
vocative. The supreme pleasure energy of the
Lord helps us to reach the Lord.

Therefore, O Arjuna, best of the Bhāratas, in the very beginning curb this great symbol of
sin [lust] by regulating the senses, and slay this destroyer of knowledge and self-

KARMA YOGA - SUMMARY

1-2 : Arjuna's confusion. Renunciation or Action

3-16 - Renunciation( Jnana yoga) is difficult. So
prescribed action with detachment ( Nishkama Karma
KARMA YOGA

Yoga) is better for Arjuna .

17.35 - Even if Arjuna is qualified for renunciation he
should still do Nishkaama Karma yoga to set the right
example.

36 - 43 - Lust is formidable enemy on the path of yoga.

So one should conquer lust by deliberate intelligence.
