Set the course selector to the lubber line and change the bearing selector on the test generator to give full scale left de- fection, ‘The command bars will command a left bank to My toward the course. Change the bearing selector to give a full scale right deflection, ‘The command bars will command a right bank to fly toward the course. Disengage the APPR Mode by pressing the APPR button. Set the test generator to a localizer frequency and select the test frequency on the NAV #1 control head. Set the test generator to give full scale left deflection, Engage the APPR Mode by pressing the APPR button on the KMC 340 Mode Con= troller, The APPR ARM annunciator on the annunciator panel will illuminate. Engage the Hdg Sel Mode, and the APPR ARM will remain engaged. Adjust the Rev. 1, October, 1974 oe KING KFC 300 FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM test generator to slowly center the LOC deviation. (The rate at which you center the deviation will determine the point at which capture will occur.) As the course deviation indicator approaches zero the Hdg Sel Mode and APPR ARM annunciators will extinguish and the APPR CPLD annunciator will illu- minate indicating approach capture. Adjust the test generator to give a full scale left deflection, rotate the course selector until the command bars are aligned with the reference, This will require a 305° course datum increased heading from the lubber line. Adjust the test generator to give a full scale right deflection, Adjust the course selector until the command bars are align- ed with the reference, This will require 30+5° course datum decreased head- ing from the lubber line. Set the course selector to a 20° increased heading from the lubber line, and adjust the test generator to give a centered course deviation indicator. Tilt the vertical gyro 10° in a left roll and back to level. ‘The command bars will at first indicate a maximum right bank but slowly re turn to align with the reference. ce. Select the test LOC frequency on NAV #1 control head. Set test generator to localizer with zero deviation output. Slowly rotate the course selector through 360° CW from the lubber line. The REV LOC annunciator in the annunciator panel will illuminate when the course pointer is in the lower or reverse course quadrants, (from 90°CW through 180° to 270° with reference to the lubber line. ) Adjust the test generator to give a right deflection on front course on both the PNI and FCI, Turn the course selector to give reverse course, and the LOC deviation indicator will reverse in the KCI 310, With the course pointer at 180° from the lubber line adjust the test generator to zero deviation. Engage the APPR Mode by pressing the APPR button on the KMC 340, The APPR CPLD annunciator and the REV LOC annunciators will illuminate on the annunciator panel, Adjust the test generator to give a left deflection on the KCI $10 indicat- or. ‘The command bars will command a left bank to fly toward the course. Center the deviation and then set the course selector to a 190° heading CW from the lubber line, The command bars will command a right bank to fly toward the tail of the course pointer. Adjust the deviation to give full scale left deflection on both PNI and FCI indicators. Rotate the course selector until the command bars are aligned with the reference, The course selector pointer shall be 210 £5" CW from the lubber line, Set NAV #1 and NAV #2 control heads to the test frequency on LOC, The per- formance monitor will be functional when both display a valid condition and the system is in APPR CPLD, Adjust the test generator to give a centered LOC deviation and the APPR CPLD annunciator will be on solid, Changing the LOC deviation to more than 2 dots in either direction will cause the APPR CPLD annunciator to flash at a 2Hz rate. e, Set up an RNAV waypoint 10 miles away on the existing aircraft course heading, by setting the test generator to a VOR frequency and the bearing selector to the aircraft heading. Set the DME simulator to 10 nautical miles and the RNAV bearing offset to 00 nautical miles. Set the RNAV to the APPR mode. Adjust the course selector to give a centered course deviation. Engage the APPR mode by pressing the APPR button on the KMC 340 Mode Controller, the APPR CPLD annunciator on the annunciator panel will illuminate indicating APPR capture when engaged with centered deviation, With the course selector set to the lubber line, adjust the test generator bearing selector to give full scale left deflection, the command bars will command a lelt bank to fly toward the course, Disengage the approach mode.
