How does this help my children’s learning?

Being able to spot and use synonyms (words with the same or similar
meaning) is a key skill for your child to learn. Using a range of different
words can help your child avoid repetition and keep their writing exciting.

Ideas for further learning:

If your child is unsure of the meaning of some of the words on the mat, you
could work together with them to find out the definition. You could use a
dictionary and thesaurus to help with this.
