TIP:
I would suggest to either make paper templates first so that you can easily arrange the
pieces onto your fabric and have the pattern saved to use again.
Use a light weight non-fusible interfacing rather than paper to trace your design. It will
last longer and the interfacing is much wider than printer or butcher paper.

Before You Begin:


Insert a new needle, thread machine with coordinating thread, and set your machine for a
lightning bolt or small zigzag stitch.
All seams are 3/8” (1cm) unless otherwise stated.

Make Belt and Belt Loops
1. Make Belt Belt Seam

Place Belt short ends together, and sew to create


one long tie. Press seam allowance open press open

Fold Belt in half RST (right sides
together) and mark and cut 45º angle at
each end.
Leave Open
Leave a gap in the middle and sew from

the middle out to the ends of the tie.
Once sewn, clip the ends of the belt to
reduce bulk.

3. Flip and Top Stitch


Flip Belt right side out using a Tube Turner or Point N’ Turner, poke out the ends, and
press. Make sure to press the seam allowance of the opening towards the inside of
the Belt. Topstitch the entire way around the belt at approximately 1/8” (6mm) from
the edge. I like to use my Edge Stitching Foot.

4: Make Belt Loops


Iron long edges in towards middle. Fold
fold in half and press. Stitch down both long
sides and set aside.

5. Cut Front Neck


Cut

Start by placing both Front pieces Wrong sides


together. From one corner measure in 2” (5cm) and
make a mark. Next, on the same corner, measure
20”

down 20” (51cm). Connect the marks and cut on


the diagonal line.

6: Cut Back Neck
1”

Place Front and Backs right sides together matching


up the outer shoulder seams.
Cut In the middle of the back neck, measure and mark
down at 1”.
Use a french curve to curve from the 1” mark up to
the inside shoulder seam with the Front. Repeat for
opposite side.
Cut on your mark to make curved back neck.

7: Sew Shoulder Seams


Once the back neck is cut. Pin and sew Front to
Back at shoulder seams, as shown.
Overcast or zigzag once sewn.

Tip: You may also choose to sew french seams for


this pattern for an ultra neat finish on the inside of
your garment. Check out our tutorial video for
French Seams in the Sew To Grow Club.

8: Attach Sleeves
Place Front and Back right side up,
as shown.
Find the middle of Sleeve, and place
right side facing down matching
middle of Sleeve with shoulder
seam.
Sew and overlock once sewn.
Press seam allowance toward
Sleeve.

SEW SIDE SEA MS AND HEM

9: Sew Side Seams


First, measure down 6” (15cm) from under
the arm and make a mark. Place the raw
edges of the Belt Loops on either side of
the mark and secure. Clip Clip

Next, place Front and Back of robe right Belt Loop Belt Loop

sides together. Start at the sleeve and sew


side seams. Clip in corner where the Sleeve
meets the Front and Back.
Overcast or zig zag once sewn.

10: Hem
Fold and press up bottom edge to wrong side by 1”
(2.5cm) Repeat and press up another 1” (2.5cm). Sew
close to inside edge to hem.

M AKE AND ADD BANDS


11: Sleeve Band
Fold Sleeve Band in half RST matching short ends.
Sew and press seam allowance open. This will
create a circle.
Top Raw Edges
Next, fold Sleeve Band in half with Wrong sides
together matching the raw edges. This creates the
band. Fold

Place the Sleeve Band, Right sides together with


Sleeve, matching the seams together first. Pin
Raw Edges

around the circle of the sleeve and sew. Overlock or


zigzag once sewn.
Match Seam
Press seam allowance toward sleeve. Optional:
Topstitch seam allowance for a professional finish.

Belt Seam
12: Front Band
Place Front Band RST at short end and sew.

Press seam allowance open.

Next, fold Front Band in half long ways RST and

Seam sew across folded ends to create the bottom
hem. Clip corner and turn band right side out.

and press to create one long Front Band.

13: Attach Band To Robe


Pin and sew Band around the Front and
Back raw edge of the Robe. Overcast once
sewn and press seam away from band.
Topstitch seam allowance for a
professional finish.

Make and Attach Pockets (Optional)


14. Make Pockets
Place pocket pieces RST. Sew around outside of
Pockets and leave a 2” (5cm) opening at the
bottom. Clip curves and corners. Turn pocket right

Poke out corners and curves and press pocket,
making sure to press in the edges of the hole.
For Flower Pleat:
Fold flower in half. Match and sew on sew line
create pleat. Press pleat to one side. Fold
and sew on

15. Attach Pockets create pleat.

From the shoulder seam, measure down


19”(48cm) and in 2.5”(6cm) from the band seam
to mark the corner and top of your pocket
placement. Repeat for opposite side.
Rectangle: Toptitch three sides.
Flower: Topstitch along bottom curve.

Today we celebrate the amazing woman that you are! You do so much for the ones
you love! Now it is your turn to kick up your feet and relax in your new Lorri Lynn
Robe. This pattern is a fun and quick sew with special pockets to add a bit of floral
whimsey. The pattern has two length options and also features wide sleeve and
front bands that allows for a contrast pop of color!
In honor of Mother’s Day I named this robe after my Momma.

FABRIC SUGGESTIONS:
For a light weight Robe try: Rayon, Voile, Lawn and other light to medium weight woven fabrics.
For a heavier Robe try: Stonewashed Linen or other Linen Blends.
Optional: This pattern is written for woven fabrics, but you could also make this robe in a
Jersey knit or French Terry. Just remember to use the correct foot, stitch and needle.
