John Wick Amigurumi Pattern by Mucau

Hi! Thank you for buying this amigurumi pattern!
I hope you have as much fun working on it as I did.

I recommend reading through the whole pattern before you start working.
Some details and observations will be very useful if you get to know them in
advance.
As most amigurumi, this doll is made in rounds. I don't usually join rounds.
Just use a stitch marker at the end of every round. A piece of different color
yarn will work just fine. Work through both loops of stitches unless otherwise indicated.
I use the Magic Ring method to start every amigurumi I make. It allows for a great finishing, no
hole in the first round! If you're not familiar with it, check the internet for video tutorials of how to
make it. You'll find plenty of resources.

2nd lapel, on the opposite side of jacket:

Count 4 st up the jacket side and join yarn with a sl st on 4th st
3 sc, hdc, [2 dc, ch3, sl st] in next, ch 3, [dc, hdc] in next, 2 sc,
sl st to FO

Turn jacket over.

Join yarn with a sl st where you started 2nd lapel.
4 sl st, [sl st, ch 1, sl st] on corner st, sl st evenly across bottom
edge, [sl st, ch 1, sl st] on corner st, 4 sl st
FO
Weave in ends.

Note: the lapels are made separate from the jacket trim because
it will be folded out. This way both trim and lapel are facing out
when sewn onto the body.

Assembly
Sew head to body using head leftover tail. Align face with
feet, both facing forward. You can use a wooden skewer
inside part of head, neck and body so that head does not
bobble about.
Sew jacket onto body. Attach front edges only. Sew a
couple st on tips of lapel to keep it in place.
Stuff arms and hands to shape. Attach hand into open arm
hole and sew it in place.
Sew arms to body.
Cut tie out of felt and glue it to shirt.
Sew ears about 6 st from eyes.
Embroider eyebrows.
Attach hair. Follow tutorial below.
Cut beard and goatee out of felt. Pin parts in place before
gluing them. Adjust position and trim it as desired, then
glue top edges to face. See pics for reference.
Part hair in the middle and trim it to shape.

Attaching hair:
Cut several 8-inch-long strands out of embroidery yarn. Bunch
them together in lots of 3 or 4. It’ll depend of how thick your
embroidery yarn is. If it’s thin and you think you might need thicker
hair locks, use more strands together.
Mark middle of forehead with a pin, about 6 rnds above eyes [pic 1].
With John facing right, use smaller size hook to attach one bunch (3 strands
together) of yarn like so:
o First insert hook through st [pic 2]. Then pick up yarn bunch [pic 3], pull
through st to form loop [pic 4], yarn over [pic 5], pull through loop [pic 6], finally
pull all yarn though loop and pull to tighten knot [pic 7].
Use the same method to attach another bunch in the same place [pic 8].
Repeat method on next possible st [pic 9].

Keep adding hair in a straight line for about 4 rnds beyond Rnd 1 [pic 10-11].
Turn John and make him face left. Use same method to attach hair in a straight line
right next to the row you just made [pic 12].

pic 10 pic 11 pic 12

Now turn head away from you and start attaching hair. This hair will cover the back of the
head. Follow the pattern below:

Insert hook in st on rnd right below where you stopped middle hairline [pic 13].
Attach hair bunches in a straight line [pic 14]. Attach hair also from this line up [pic 15].
Careful not to attach too much hair. I put enough just to cover back of head so John
would not have any bald spots [pic 16].
Do another hair line just below main middle one [pic 17]. Make sure you stop a few
rnds before beginning of middle line [pic 18].

Making beard and goatee

Cut goatee shape out of paper.

Sketch beard around it.
Cut parts.
Use stencils to cut beard out of felt.
Don’t worry so much about beard corners when cutting it from
stencil. You’ll be able to trim it as desired before finally gluing
it in place.

Assembly
Sewing back legs: first pin them in place. Adjust position and angle until you are
pleased, then sew them to body.
Sewing front legs: pin front legs positioned near color change. Sew only front st.
Sew muzzle to head, right between eyes.
o If you are using the safety eye for a nose, you will need to push the eye pin
tip into the head a bit before starting to sew. That’s because the safety eye
pin might be a little longer than the muzzle itself.
o If you are using felt, cut a little oval out of black felt and glue it onto muzzle
after you finish sewing it to head.
Sew head to body.
Sew tail to bum.
Place collar. You can tie it to fasten it then hide ends inside body.

You are done!
