and concerts performed by students and guest
performers.

of support, known as a Learning Agreement
(LA).

welfare and other related issues, as well as
providing an online learning platform. We
welcome feedback and suggestions, which
can be directed to Steven Dunn, our Learning
Technologist.
23
Accommodation
The Royal Conservatoire aims to offer all first
year students a place in a hall of residence;
accommodation is also available for students
with disabilities.
24
Financial support
The Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) is
the main source of assistance for UK
undergraduates whose disability means that
specialist equipment or additional personal
help is required to enable them to pursue a
course of study. Most UK postgraduate
students are also eligible to apply for DSA.
25
The Students’ Union
The Students’ Union (SU) of the Royal
Conservatoire is able to provide support and
information. The SU runs campaigns and
keeps leaflets on various topics of interest to
students and you can drop in to the SU office
to request information.

Medical Services

28
The Royal Conservatoire has preferred
medical specialists in the fields of
physiotherapy, Ear Nose and Throat and Oral
Surgery. If you have a medical problem in one
of these three areas that is causing difficulties
in your studies and which cannot easily be
resolved through NHS treatment,
arrangements can be made for you to see one
of the above-mentioned specialists for a free
one-off consultation. You should first consult
your Head of Programme about this service if
you feel you would like to see a specialist.
29
Students with Disabilities
Students with a range of sensory and mobility
impairments, as well as unseen disabilities,
have successfully completed courses at the
Royal Conservatoire.
