Content Demonstrates understanding of key concepts of parallelograms and triangle similarity.

Standard

Performance Is able to investigate, analyze, and solve problems involving parallelograms and triangle
Standard similarity through appropriate and accurate representation.

Learning Identifies quadrilaterals that are parallelograms.

competency

Objectives At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
1. Define Quadrilateral
2. Identify the different kinds of Quadrilaterals
3. Relate the importance of quadrilaterals in real life situations

Topic Quadrilaterals and its Different Kinds.

Lesson Proper Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

Preliminaries Good morning, class! Good morning, sir/ma’am!

Kindly Stand and let us pray. Please lead the prayer. In the name of the father…

We are all present, sir/ma’am!

Motivation Before we proceed with our topic for today let have
first a recap about what we have discuss last time.

Let’s watch this short Video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zI3rUMrRLF8

what can you say about the video class? What it is

(All of the students raised their

hands)

Polygons.
Can you give me an example of Polygons based into
what you have watch Class? Triangles

Quadrilaterals

Pentagon

Hexagon
Excellent class! So last time we discussed about
Polygons.

Did I give you an assignment class?

None Sir/ma’am!
Alright!

Presentation To start with our lesson, Lets watch again another

Video Class!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpDSqtD4DNg

Alright did you enjoy watching class? Yes sir/ma’am!

What is the content of the Video Class? It is all about Quadrilaterals Sir!

Excellent! You have watched about Quadrilaterals

class and from that Video some types of
Quadrilaterals have been mentioned.

Can you name it and illustrate it on the board? Yes

Jhondelle? Rhombus
Very good Jhondelle!

What else Dashaine?

Rectangle

Very good Dashaine! What else Morella?

Parallelogram

Very Good Class! So, what do these types of

quadrilaterals mentioned have in common? They are all have four sides

Precisely! That’s the reason why they are called?

Quadrilaterals sir/ma’am!

Discussion In connection with this, today we are going to

discuss about “Types of Quadrilaterals”

Lets watch this short video class!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMkY_uIku9Q
From what you have watched, what is quadrilateral Quadrilaterals have four sides and
class? four angles sir/ma’am.

Very good!
Five Sir/ma’am.
How many types of Quadrilaterals has been shown
from the video?
Parallelogram!
Very Good Class! And what are they? Give me one!
Parallelogram has two sets of parallel
Well said! What is parallelogram? lines.

Very good! What else? Trapezoid!

What is Trapezoid? Trapezoid has one set of parallel line.

Rectangle!
Very good! What else?
Rectangle has four right angles
What is a rectangle?

Is there anymore class? Rhombus!

What is a Rhombus? Rhombus has 4 sides equals

Very good! And the last? Square!

Squares has 4 equal sides and 4 right

Great! what is a square?
angles
Excellent! So here are the different types of
quadrilaterals.

It’s fun sir/ma’am.

All the shapes sir/ma’am has 4

sides and angles.

Quadrilateral sir/ma’am
Application You had learned about the different types of
quadrilaterals, to be more familiar about them, let’s
have again another game.

I will divide you into 2 groups. Each group should

have at least 10 members to represent the whole
group.

Please count off.

So, here’s the mechanics:

1. Each group will be given a set of shapes or
figures.
2. Each group will have one pair of
representatives in every turn, one who will
describe the shape and one who will draw the
said shape based on the description that their
partner gives.
3. If you are already sure on your answer, say
“MOVEON.” Then, another pair will change
and play the game.
4. The group who will get more correct shape
within1 minute will be the winning team.
Let us now begin.

How’s the game class? It’s fun sir/ma’am.

That’s good to hear!

So, what did you notice about the shape that

you draw? All the shapes sir/ma’am has 4
sides and angles.

ery good! So Quadrilateral sir/ma’am

what do you
call on the shape
that has 4
sides and angles?
That’s correct! In
connection
with this, today we
are going
to discuss about
“Kinds of
Quadrilaterals”
Very good! So, what do you call on the shape that
has 4sides and angles?

Generalization Very good! I guess you already understand

about our discussion today. Now, let us determine if
you really learned our lesson. I will tell you
a story.
So, are you ready to listen class?

There’s a king, his name is King Quadrilateral.

But he is so sad. He forgets the name of his
sons and grandsons. Now he asked for our help. So,
can we help him class?
Good. Okay here’s the
instruction, I will describe his
sons and grandsons, and
what you are going to do is to
identify their name. Each
group will have one
representative every round.
Good. Okay here’s the instruction, I will describe
his sons and grandsons, and what you are going to
do is to identify their name. Each group will
have one representative every round.
The representative will raise
their flag to answer and the
one who will answer it
correctly will receive a point.
Is that clear?
The representative will raise their flag to answer and
the one who will answer it correctly will
receive a point.
Is that clear?

Evaluation Identify, define, and analyze the problem. (10

minutes) ½ sheet of paper
A. What is quadrilateral?
B. Identify what are described in each
number.
1. Four-line segments are connected
end to end.
2. It is a quadrilateral with four equal
sides and four congruent angles.
3. A quadrilateral with both pairs of
opposite sides equal.
4. Three squares fit in a container.
5. The sides of the cabinet inside the
bedroom of Julia measure 3 m, 1.5 m, 3
m, and 1.5 m
Assignment Take a picture of quadrilaterals that can be seen in
your house or street and identify what kind of
quadrilateral it is.2. Study about circles.
