TALK ABOUT YOU


I would like to introduce myself in a few words. My name is ….. I have got a nickname. My friends
sometimes call me …… I am ….. years old. I was born on ………. I live at ………… Street in
…………. I am a student. I go to Szent László Grammar School. I have got a sister/brother. As for my
appearance, I’m tall and slim. I have got long, straight brown hair and brown eyes. Talking of my face,
it is oval/round. I wear glasses. As for my personality, I am open and friendly. I get on well with most
people and I have got a lot of friends. I consider myself a good listener. My friends say that I am
talkative and outgoing. I have got a good sense of humour. I am hardworking a helpful. I always try to
think positively.

In my free time I like watching TV, surfing the Internet, playing football, going to the cinema, hanging
out with my friends, reading.
I like sport and I play handball, football. / Unfortunately I don’t do any sport.
I don’t know yet what I would like to do when I leave school. One thing is sure, I would like to go on
to higher education. / I would like to take up a job.

COMPLAIN TO THE TELEPHONE OPERATOR


You: Good afternoon
Teacher: Good afternoon
You: I’m calling from High Street. Could you send someone to fix my Internet?
Teacher: What’s the problem?
You: It’s not connecting. I don’t undrstand why.
Teacher: How long have you had this problem?
You: Since this morning.
Teacher: Does the Internet come up?
You: It does buti t doesn’t connect to any webpage.
Teacher: If it pops up, the problem is with the connection.
You: Can you send someone to fix it?
Teacher: Of course, I can.
You: When?
Teacher: Right now. Can I take your address, please?
You: It’s 44 High Street. When will they arrive?
Teacher: They will be there in 30 minutes.
You: Fine.
Teacher: Thank you for calling.

PICTURE DESCRIPTION – DIFFERENT TYPES OF FOOD


These two pictures show different types of food. In the first picture I can see children. They are
eating healthy food. In the second picture I can see a man who is eating fast food / junk food.
The children in picture one are eating vegetables and salads whereas tha man in picture two is eating
hamburger, chips, doughtnuts.
Normally I eat three/four times a day. These meals are breakfast, elevenses, lunch and dinner. I eat
the most for lunch and the least for dinner. I often eat two rolls or croissants with honey, jam or
butter and a big mug of cocoa or tea for breakfast. Sometimes I eat cold cuts and sausages or yoghurt
or fruit for breakfast. For elevenses I take one or two tandwiches with me prepared by my mother. I
always have lunch at the school canteen. Lunch consists of three courses: first comes some soup
(vegetable, meat or fruit soup). The second course is some meat with potatoes or rice or some

vegetable dish made from peas, beans, cabbage. The third course is usually some cake or fruit. I drink
water. Dinner is usually at 7 o’clock in our place. I don’t have hot meal. I eat a sandwich or some cold
cuts and eggs for dinner.
Our most popular national dishes are Újházi chicken soup, goulash, fish soup, chicken paprika with
sour cream, noddles with cottage cheese, sour cream and bacon and stuffed cabbage. I’m afraid I
can’t cook very well. I am good at making tea. My favourite food is ………………… I think I’m a healthy
eater because I try to avoid junk food, fast food. I try to eat fruit and vegetables. I don’t often eat out,
only if I celebrate something. I prefer eating out /eating at home because ……………..
