Questions 11 – 15

Read the text about Janet, a teacher, and the questions below.
For each question, circle the correct letter A, B, or C.

A Teacher’s Life

I’m a teacher and I love my job. It's not an easy job – there are always problems, but it's never boring.
I usually arrive at school at 7.30, and so I get up at 6.30. There is a lot of work to do before the
students arrive at 8.30.

I need to get there early because sometimes parents come to talk to me before school starts. There are
30 children in my class. When they come to school, they sometimes talk to me about why they aren't
happy. I feel sad then, but they also talk about good things and sometimes they are very funny.

Lessons begin at 9.00. Sometimes we read books or newspapers for children, but we usually use
computers for reading because the children think they are good fun.

Lunch time starts at 11.55. It's a busy time for the teachers. The children eat lunch together but the
teachers stay in their classrooms eating and working because we need to think about the afternoon
lessons. We don't usually have time to eat a big lunch, just fruit and a sandwich.

In the afternoon, the children are tired and they don't want to work. We play games or we go to the
park. They are happy with their friends.

School finishes at 3.15 and the children go home. Teachers stay to work and I never go home before
5.00; usually it's 7.00. At the end of the day I'm tired but happy.
