1. Extinct Species in the Philippines:

a. Philippine Bare-backed Fruit Bat (Dobsonia chapmani)


b. Pygmy Buffalo (Bubalus mindorensis)
c. Negros Naked-backed Fruit Bat (Dobsonia peroni)
d. Tamaraw (Bubalus mindorensis)
e. Panay Monitor Lizard (Varanus mabitang)
2. Endangered Species in the Philippines:
a. Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi)
b. Tarsier (Tarsius syrichta)
c. Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata)
d. Philippine Spotted Deer (Rusa alfredi)
e. Pawikan (Sea Turtles)
3. Habitat loss - This is when the natural habitats of animals are destroyed or degraded by humans
activities such as deforestation, mining, agriculture and urbanization.
Invasive species diseases - This is when human introduce non- native species and pathogens that
can out compete infect or prey on native animals.
Overexploitation - This is when human hunt fish and trade animals for food medicine and other
purposes often exceeding the sustainable levels.
