Palarong Pampaaralan 2023 Guidelines

I. SPORTS EVENTS
The following sports are included:
a. Athletics Boys and Girls
b. Badminton Boys and Girls
c. Chess Boys and Girls
d. Laro ng Lahi

II. MODE OF TOURNAMENT

Single Elimination (Knock-Out, Best Time) Tournament

III. GENERAL GUIDELINES

1. All events are open for all learners who are interested to participate in
the sports events, given that he/she is physically fit.

2. All learners can participate in as many events as he/she can.

3. Groupings shall be made through count off in every grade to ensure

that each team shall be consisted of learners from different grade
levels.

4. The following color coding in every group shall be applied:

Group 1 – Team Red
Group 2 – Team Blue
Group 3 – Team Yellow
Group 4 – Team Green
Group 5 – Team Orange
Group 6 – Team Violet
Thus, learners should wear any appropriate sports attire
corresponding to the Team Color they belong.

5. Learners who are deemed unfit to participate in the regular sports

events are encouraged to participate in the Laro ng Lahi. However,
physically fit learners especially those who are members of the existing
Sports Clubs should participate in at least one (1) Regular Sports
Event.

IV. CODE OF CONDUCT

1. Learner-athletes who will be involved in fighting and any grave un-
sportsmanship conduct shall be disqualified for further participation.

2. Learner-athletes/Coaches/Team Officials/parents or Guardians uttering

derogatory words or profane language, pointing an accusing finger/ dirty

finger, cursing a referee and other officials during and after the game shall
be subjected to disciplinary actions.

V. GROUND RULES PER SPORTS EVENTS

1. Athletics Boys and Girls
Any learner can join in as many events as he/she can, given that he/she is
physically fit. All events are final thus winners shall be determined through Best time
in Running and Best Distance in Throwing and Jumping events.

2. Badminton Boys and Girls

All learners are encouraged to join the tournaments. There shall only be a
single elimination round. First player to get the score of ten shall be the winner.
Thus, change court shall be done if any of the players scores 5.

3. Chess Boys and Girls

Round robin shall be applied. The player who gets the greatest number of wins
shall be declared winner.
