I am Anmol Agarwal.

a student of the School of Business Management, Christ University

pursuing a BBA degree with a specialisation in Finance. I aspire to pursue Accounting,
Accountability & Financial Management from your reputed institution which I feel will help
me forward my career in the field of Finance and Accounting.

I was born in Siliguri, a town located in the foothills of Darjeeling, the queen of hills in the
Indian state of West Bengal where I completed my primary and secondary education in the
field of commerce. I have always been a dedicated student from the early years of my school
and have been interested in the field of finance since I studied Accounts and Management in
my high school. Accounting is something that comes to me naturally as I come from a
Traditional Business Family and have seen money management and financing since a very
young age. Due to my keen interest in Accounting and Finance after completing my high
school, I have been working at my family business in the field of accounting alongside my
graduation in business management. Alongside helping my parents in the business, I have
also worked with different companies as finance associate which gave me a better picture of
the real business world and its working. I worked as a summer associate in a listed Indian
Company wherein I also worked on accounting and legal matters which helped me gain a
hands-on experience in the field of study.

Currently in my third year, I am working on a research paper on the topic ‘Environmental

Sustainability – A cost-benefit analysis from Finance point of view’. The reason I chose this
topic was my equal interest in the field of social work and Social Entrepreneurship. To carry
forward this interest of mine I also established Pehel Trust a brainchild project of mine which
is a government of India recognised Non-Governmental Organisation that carries out various
social welfare activities Pan India. Pehel, an initiative to impart knowledge was started post
the months of lockdown imposed due to Covid 19 Pandemic. After exploring the slums of
Siliguri, it became apparent that most of the children out there could not continue their
education because of lack of facilities to access online classes. Thus, to ensure that education
did not stop for these children, Pehel was born. Keeping in mind that knowledge is not just
limited to school curriculum, we try to impart all around knowledge by teaching those little
kids about things like good touch-bad touch, English speaking classes amongst others. Along
with this Pehel took up initiatives to fight Hunger, Improper Menstrual Hygiene among
young girls and lack of education on sensitive topics.
During my three years at Christ (Deemed to be University), I also became a confident and
enthusiastic individual as I worked at several organisations within the university. I headed the
Finance team for the Christ University School of Business and Management Association for
the past two years where I managed and worked towards conducting national and
international level management and cultural fests. I also serve as the student head for the
entrepreneurship cell of the management department. One of the best learning outcomes for
me as an individual includes my experience as a Student Trainer where I got a chance to take
skill development classes for my peer from junior batches on topics like Time Management
and Email and letter writing which gave me a wonderful chance to not only help my juniors
and peers but also shine my personal skill set and grow as an individual.

Along with these activities Christ University provided me with a platform to grow and work
towards my passion for Social Work and Social entrepreneurship as I volunteered for the
Centre for Social Action, A student body to work towards Social Welfare and Well-being of
the society. I head the University level team for the Centre and have managed 4000
volunteers in the past two years which helped me develop various skills like team
management, leadership, public speaking, better decision making etc. I also head the
department level wing of the Centre called Anvaya where we try and incorporate our learning
from the field of Management into various aspects of Social Welfare through social
entrepreneurial activities.

This enthusiasm for organising events and being active in extra-curriculars is something I
developed in my Alma Mater during my senior secondary where I gained experience of
organizing a handful of events, be it Model United Nations Conferences, TEDx events, or
regular school events.

At the same time, I would pitch myself as someone who can balance his academics and work
for extra curriculars as I performed to the best of my ability and scored 95.25% in my Senior
Secondary and have an average of 3.75 out of 4 GPA for the past 4 semesters at the Christ
University at my under-graduation course.

King’s College is recognized all over the globe for being one of the best in terms of providing

world-class education. It is well-known for its cutting-edge research facilities, exceptional

faculty, advanced curriculum, and excellent career counselling. The university is well-known

for providing the adaptability and versatility required in this broad and dynamic financial
sector, where I intend to refine my abilities in order to solve more challenges through the

development of sustainable and learned financial solutions. The programme prepares students

for real-world professional challenges by teaching them how to manage situations holistically .

All of this, I believe, will help me fine tune my analytical skills and realise my lifelong

ambition. Also, as it is situated in the heart of London, it homes various opportunities for me

to grow as an individual as well.

I have opted for a MSc in Accounting, Accountability & Financial Managemen t because

accounting interests me and pursuing my Masters in the same would help me advance my

career and also this course will help me develop more in-depth insights on financial

management and its various aspects and help me add on to my knowledge of management

from my undergraduate.

I would like to join your esteemed institution as I feel that enrolling in this international

course will help me launch my career with a broader perspective, as after completing this

Master's program, I plan to look for relevant job opportunities in finance and want to work

with international teams.
